Immortality for the win! Although corduroy has to be a top five song live.

I don't think I'll be able to vote in the final round. Seriously.

    Corduroy (Las Vegas, 2000)

    vs
    Immortality (Toronto, 2000)

corduroy is absolutely an amazing song live but we hear it every show. immortality is also stellar live but to me it's a little more special because it's played less frequent. (holy shit fenway 2 was phenomenal!)
studio wise they are both the best on vitalogy. tough choice but i'm going immortality next round.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me......

I voted for it, so I'm not complaining, but I just heard Tremor Christ from Melbourne in '95 and it was spectacularly badass.
Haters need to find it and give their ears a taste.

Great tune indeed. I too voted for it last round as it's just not better (imo) than the other six that were listed.
I thought the point of this contest is to vote on the best sounding studio version not live?
I don't think it matters. To me it's about the song itself as opposed to how it was produced in the studio. Besides, I never listen to the albums so I'd have to abstain altogether which wouldn't be any fun (for me).
Ah, perhaps I have this whole poll wrong then.
I thought we were voting on what songs sound the best on each studio LP.
Now I know why we are getting some crazy votes and results.

edit - To clarify I know we are voting off the weakest link so I thought we are voting off the weakest sounding on each album.
I think it makes sense that one would choose to vote that way. Really. I am not, however. There are too many great live performances of all of these songs to worry about studio versions. I'm kind of like that with most of the music I listen to - especially stuff that's been out for a few decades.
I hear what you are saying although sometimes it's nice to just put the original on loud.
    Like mcgruff does w/ Parachutes.
He would much rather hear it that way than live.
Of course Satans Bed sounds amazing on the album - live not so much.
Sirens is a gem on the album - live not so much although Dyer may disagree.
Rival and NAIS are lost dogs and should be given as much consideration as Sweet Lew live or studio kinda like the artwork for Moonlander.
    totally agree with parachutes lol!!
I'll ride the wave where it takes me......

Oh look at Scruffy. Championing the slow song.

Corduroy is getting my (non) vote. Immortality is a great song though.

Not For You is playing at my house as of this very moment. It's kind of criminal that it isn't still around.

3:58 on you just don't hear this anymore, it's gone and not captured live.

Immortality is a slow song until mike solo's and stone/ed are hitting an Em and C a few times into an A up and down the neck....back to the subtle Em...so damn good live!
and that outro jam now into a matt drum solo....holy shit!
I'll ride the wave where it takes me......

Immortality in Buffalo '13 is a hidden gem. That show in general is underrated.
Not an epic location or time period, but an essentially flawless rendition with a ton of soul.
Immortality junkies like myself need this one in the stable.

Corduroy will win. Great songs on Vitalogy, would have liked to see Last Exit make the final round. Last Exit and Hail, Hail off No Code could be brothers. B)

Anything you lose from being honest
You never really had to begin with.

Sometimes it's not the song that makes you emotional it's the people and things that come to your mind when you hear it.

Can't believe the hard on for Immortality such a meh song. At this rate Just Breathe is going to win for Backspacer.

Meh? Personal distaste is one thing, but it's clearly a damn good song that has been celebrated and acclaimed by musicians, critics, and fans alike.

    I agree somewhat w/ him/her?
Hail Hail doesn't suck rotten eggs but it certainly doesn't deserve any accolades.

Lots of chatter re: live versions.

I wonder how we would vote if it were early '95 after playing the crap out of the album for a few months. And at the age we would have been at. Me thinks the softy's would have taken a backseat.

I should save this for a future No Code poll, but can't resist - Hail, Hail on Letterman.

Hail Hail was the last great PJ rocker until Severed Hand ten years later.

    Nothingman? Definitely.
Immortality? Definitely not. I've always loved it (even with the fade out ending).

Hail Hail is the weakest song on a bottom tier album for me. Never did like it much and still don't. As for it being the last great rocker until severed hand, well that is just a departure from reality.
And before someone asks if I have seen No Code live the answer to that is yes as well.
