Favorite Pearl Jam Merch Find

TauranTauran Posts: 89

I just found this today at a local movie/music re-seller in my area.
I think I just got a 1991 Alive Cassette Demo single signed by Eddie and Jeff for $10!
At least I am pretty sure that's Jeff's signature. It is most definitely real writing in pen.
It may or may not be real, but I am excited either way.

I found a sealed copy of Ten on vinyl from 1991 at the same place once.

I'd like to hear about some of your favorite or rare Pearl Jam finds.

I've had that thought already and I actually know someone named Erin that would probably like this....

Thanks, but unlike 'Erin', I am going to keep it.

Always have this on you just in case you meet them. And ask them if they remember it from anything. If not, oh well still cool. If they do, you might get to hear a story about it straight from them.

    Awesome find.

Would it be fair to say the onseller must have never opened it to check contents and that's why the price may have been low as they never knew about the sigs?

Holy F that there is the reason why I go into a record store whenever I'm traveling... you just never know.

I bought a framed set of the first 3 LPS with a Vegas '93 ticket stub and Vs promo poster that has inverted color for $60 at a pawn shop in Vegas a while back... When I got it home I cracked it open to find a signed Soul Asylum poster underneath it all

Also found a copy of the Brad LP "Best Friends" signed by the whole band for $8 at a record store in Burbank, I think the record store must have thought the album cover just looked that way.

The manager at the used music place said that they paid the guy $3 for it for the trade in. That means the guy selling it didn't know about it either or forgot.

I got it from a place that's actually has dozens of stores in Ohio. They just glance at eBay for prices for weird stuff and have no establishment precedent or rules for selling signed stuff and they don't authenticate anything, so thus, this tape was $10.

Besides PJ posters, Vinyls, T-shirts........ These are my PJ finds. I am a very big autograph collector, and collect a lot of non baseball celebs on baseballs. Have a Ramones signed ball, and many other celebrities. But my PJ baseballs are a few of my favorites. Hope to get Matt & Stone one day, though I know Stone will be VERY tough..................

Yep! I love the exchange. I have two of them within 15 minutes of my house and I visit them frequently. They also know that I am the Pearl Jam guy and the manager will hold stuff sometimes for me.

Not necessarily merch, but mine was Vault-#1 on eBay about five years ago. I think I got it for somewhere in the range of $80-$100.

I've never really found anything extraordinarly rare just sitting around in a store. Most of my collection I've bought before it was rare and then it became rare afterwards. I guess my favourite finds were:

    1) cdnow.com (i think that's what it was called) - Way back in the 90s. First online store I found. It was on telnet (not even www). That's where I discovered the dissident set. I remember being really stoked about that.

    2) Lyle's Place - Victoria BC - Maybe a year or two after it came out, I'm at the store with my brother. He goes "you got this one yet?" and hands me a new copy of live on 2 legs (vinyl). It wasn't really rare yet but i'd never seen it in a store. It's most likely had he not seen it in the bargain I would never have bought it before it got rare.

I found the Dissident set at a Tower Records in London while on vacation... I was super excited to find it.

My best /rare find was snatching Jeff's wristband when he tossed it into the crowd in 2009 at The Spectrum.

I got the last 'PJ' flag in a small out of the way merch store in Wrigley back in 2013 - Besides the Cracker Jack poster, it was the only thing I really wanted from that show. When we got in, all the other stands / booths were sold out of the flag, and I had pretty much abandoned hope of finding one when we noticed a small souvenir store on the outside of the concourse w/ barely anyone in it. They had no inventory left, so they took the display flag down for my purchase.

In the grand scheme of things, it's pretty insignificant, but I do like to hang it in the front window of my house whenever I'm about to see a show. Sounds silly, but I don't care, it's a great reminder of an awesome weekend.

Oh yah I forgot about that. I got Matt's wristband at the Vancouver '13 show. It's was quite a bit over my head but I jumped and used all of my reach and just got it. I'm pretty sure I disappointed the poor folks behind me. I'm often close to the front, but never at the front, so its rare something comes flying my way.
