not me, but I just found out a buddy makes $300 plus a month.

and I always thought it was just a "wine money" thing.

Nope. When I can get in regular like, I average an extra 300.00/mo also.

I have not. My understanding is its painful. Or is that bone marrow?
Oh please let it rain today.

    Bone marrow would be painful.
Plasma is easy, painless, and it is easier to donate than blood; just takes longer.

I am not allowed to give any blood products. I lived in the UK during the BSE scare. Apparently my brain may dissolve at any time.

(and PS I would not be paid for donating, though I would do it anyway if I could)

I did it a couple of times several years ago when they did a plasma drive in the city where I lived. The needle is pretty damn big, but it's not painful. The worst part is that your arm feels very tired for the next day or so.

I gave it once in college. I probably made about $50 and it took forever. They draw your blood first and then pump it through a centrifuge that separates the the plasma (you watch it happening). The next part was the freakiest for me..they pump your blood back into your arm. You have to open and close your hand to help pump it back into your veins It seems like this process happened about 7 or 8 times. It was uncomfortable and I never gave it again.

I used to give every ten days. However, we moved and they don't have the facilities here to do that as part of a regular blood donation. You do not get paid for donations here.

I used to give blood as often as I was able...maybe every six weeks? with blood, they take it all. I liked it cuz I thought of it as an oil change. you don't get paid for blood (at least I didn't). Last I checked, I was ineligible to still give blood because I got a bunch of chemo, some years ago. :bawling:

you can sell plasme like twice a week...they pull your blood, extract the plasma and put the rest back. I think plasma is used to make medicine (?)

That too. But mostly it is used to help burn victims. I feel like I'm missing something..
