crazy isn't it. he is a madman when he is fully unleashed... can't wait to see SG in May.

come to think of it, I prefer his drumming in TOTD over PJ. that was a great show.

Strange time signatures and his Jazz training fit more to a band like Soundgarden than Pearl Jam, in my humble opinion.

First CD I bought as a young drummer was Superunknown. My instructor had the book and we learned it start to finish. Wasn't long after that I picked up Vs and the PJ thing obviously stuck, but I've been a MFC fan ever since. For the record, he's awesome on Binaural, but I agree that his is holding back considerably on the other studio albums.

Not even close for me either. Soundgarden takes him to the next level! Especially watching him live.

I mean this in the most respectful way because he is hands down my favorite drummer alive. I see Matt as more of a musician and artist in Soundgarden where as he is more of a marathon man and role player in Pearl Jam. Both bands are better because of him.

Also my favorite live Matt performance I have been present for would have to be the Temple of the Dog shows in Seattle last year. I have never seen Soundgarden though so that'll change one day.

I prefer his drumming in Pearl Jam because when he drums for Pearl Jam he is playing drums on a Pearl Jam song. Will take that over Soundgarden every time.

I prefer Matt Cameron in any setting. Picking one band over the other is not comparable, he is asked to do totally different things in each band. Soundgarden lets the beast loose way more often, but I feel Pearl Jam lets him branch out more into some of his Jazz tendencies. I am not saying Matt does not go full tilt in PJ, just a more demanding palette in PJ. I agree with a prior post, TOTD is a nice middle ground.

Seeing him with Soundgarden was amazing! I never thought I'd ever get to Soundgarden live. That truly showed Matt is a beast on drums, (Jesus's Christ pose) was amazing he just goes off- loved it. He is great in PJ

    SG no question
I'd love to see PJ play a Jesus Christ Pose-esque song or come close to the other worldly experimentalism of Superunknown and Down on the Upside
