did you feel that earthquake this afternoon?

that was the beginning of the end of an administration. he may not end up being impeached, but he will not win a second term. the majority of people voted against him last time, and more people are just over him now. trump fatigue is real for middle of the road voters, and the gop is going to find that out the hard way if they do not begin to distance themselves now.
How many of us thought he'd win a first term.  The electoral college will still favor him.  For the Dems to have a chance, they'll have to find someone that's more than "not Trump." Obama had a great combo of energy and (unlike Hillary) minimal history of shenanigans.  I have no idea who that person's going to be but hopefully that person is out there somewhere ready to be that positive force with minimal baggage that brings people to the polls.  The Dems have to go for the win (as opposed to just being "not Trump"); they can't count on Trump beating himself because his followers will never stop supporting him.

But NOBODY, not Democrats, liberals, moderates, or any other people that don't want Trump to be President should just be taking comfort in the fact that he's a buffoon and he's going to lose.  Look how well that worked out last time.
what is trump going to run on? his failed administration? the only reason he won was because it was an open house. he did not unseat an incumbent president. he won a three way race with less popular votes. he won the electoral college, which is no longer a viable thing.

to win re-election you have to tout your successes and bring those to the american people. to this point trump has zero. unless you count a few executive orders that can be ruled unconstitutional or easily overturned by the next president. he has nothing to run on. even if he survives the scandals, he will be too damaged to win. he would not be considered the head of the party if republicans abandon him.
There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.- Hemingway

"Well, you tell him that I don't talk to suckas."
  • Cue the, "Trump is a brilliant master strategist playing 3D chess and the only person who looks like a liar is Comey and now Trump has everyone where he wants them, including the republicans who will solidify their power in congress by gaining seats in 2018 which leads to Trump's re-election in 2020 as those brilliant headlines fade away any day now" post.
Like in poker, it can be said President Trump has the nuts.

Again with the yet and wait and see. The yet is becoming a yette.  How long are the dems going to umbrella themselves from the bright shining imaginary impeachment ball in the sky lest they turn orange?

I am paying attention. Yet your strong opinion and dislike of President Trump overpowers points you try to make. A lot actually.  Where has  the Russian money trail gone? Where is this magical ptape?  Where is everything else you say will take down President Trump?  Nowhere to be found just endless words on CNN.

Tell me who Mueller appointed to his team, if you're paying attention. These types of investigations take time and need to be thorough, as they should be. If you know what my timeline is, why are you harping on me about why impeachment hasn't started yet? Trump will stand until he's impeached by the house and removed from office by the senate. Or resigns, whichever comes first. I'm sorry you don't understand our constitutional procedures. Google can be your friend.

So after yesterday, I think it's clear obstruction or abuse of power is what may get it done....

Really hope the tapes are subpoenaed, if they actually exist.

The one thing I'm sick & tired of hearing about is the precious Constitution with what has transpired in the political landscape this past year I'd say it's a worthless document at best !

I am paying attention. Yet your strong opinion and dislike of President Trump overpowers points you try to make. A lot actually.  Where has  the Russian money trail gone? did you feel that earthquake this afternoon?

that was the beginning of the end of an administration. he may not end up being impeached, but he will not win a second term. the majority of people voted against him last time, and more people are just over him now. trump fatigue is real for middle of the road voters, and the gop is going to find that out the hard way if they do not begin to distance themselves now.

I would agree with this. Hillary sat back and basked in the victory when she thought it was in the bag. we all thought it was going to be a crushing victory. they need a MESSAGE.

what is trump going to run on? his failed administration? the only reason he won was because it was an open house. he did not unseat an incumbent president. he won a three way race with less popular votes. he won the electoral college, which is no longer a viable thing.

to win re-election you have to tout your successes and bring those to the american people. to this point trump has zero. unless you count a few executive orders that can be ruled unconstitutional or easily overturned by the next president. he has nothing to run on. even if he survives the scandals, he will be too damaged to win. he would not be considered the head of the party if republicans abandon him.
he is only 5 months in. it is still very early in his term. at year 4 all of this, if nothing comes of it, could be forgotten. depending on how the rest of this term goes. it is WAY too early to say he's too damaged to win again.

GOP’s New Defense of Trump: The Guy’s A Toddler, He Doesn’t Know Any Better

"Republicans attempting to explain President Donald Trump’s behavior appear to be trying out a novel approach: He ought not to be blamed for his mistakes because he doesn’t know any better.

“He’s new at government and so, therefore, I think that he’s learning as he goes,” House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) told reporters Thursday, explaining how Trump could have thought it was OK to lean on the FBI director to drop a criminal investigation.

Call it the toddler defense. Trump cannot be expected to understand appropriate behavior for a president because he is a businessman, not a politician, and is still only learning."

They've all been new at being President but Trump's unique in not having paid any other political dues before being elected.  He's never been a representative, Senator, Governor, Mayor, City Council Member, etc.  That's unique.

So, I hate to say it, but Ryan's kinda right.  Another way to phrase it is "he's totally unqualified."  Yet another way is "he's totally unqualified, but what are we supposed to do?  You nitwits elected him."

That Ryan said this is a bigger indictment on the voters for electing him (and non-voters for letting it happen) than it is on the GOP.

well of course he's right, but it's laughable to use ignorance of procedures as an excuse for your conduct when you are the POTUS. if anything, the people he surrounds himself with are partially to blame for not bringing him up to speed on how it all works. he should probably have someone at his side 24/7 to guide him.
