Tickets to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Brooklyn are sold out,
but Northeast Ohio fans can still watch the festivities live...sort of.

The Friday, April 7, inductions of Joan Baez, Electric Light Orchestra, Journey, Pearl Jam, Nile Rodgers of Chic, Tupac Shakur and Yes
will be simulcast at the Rock Hall itself, 1100 East Ninth St., Cleveland.

Tickets, $23.50, go on sale at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, at the Rock Hall box office and online at ticketing.rockhall.com.
Rock Hall members can take advantage of a pre-sale starting at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, at the same outlets.
Rock Hall membership begins at $50 for an individual, up to $500 for what's called "headliner'' status, and is available online at rockhall.com.
The tickets include admission to the museum exhibits as well as a chance to see the 32nd annual ceremony as it unfolds.
The Rock Hall store will be open, and will feature special merchandise honoring the Class of 2017.
The ceremony returns to Cleveland in 2018 as part of an every-other-year commitment to hold the inductions here.

They should totally do this live via stream online for the world to see. Hell it's an induction ceremony show. Not sure why fans have to wait weeks later to see this, edited and all.

I'm guessing because they have a contract with HBO for them to broadcast it exclusively.

Why not PPV live, then let HBO run it later. Just like some boxing matches or something...

I'm guessing they already have a contract with HBO which gives them the exclusive broadcast rights. I like your idea but I don't think HBO would be cool with them broadcasting it to the world before they got to premiere it on their channel. Like anything else, I'm sure the answer comes down to $$$.

There's no guess. And if hbo thought ppv was a better business model, they would do that. But the point of them getting these types of special events is to drive subscriptions rather than one time money grabs.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

    Wow,
I didn't realize how affordable the tickets are going to be.

    Uh, oh
  • Simulcast tickets sold out at 10:01 according to the guy I spoke to at the box office. He said they usually never even sell out.

    Anyone have any luck?
