I know.  But PJ has said for more than what Bruce said.

Trashing your own belongings as a form of protest. I don’t get it.

OP burned his Nike’s a couple weeks back too, yeah? Brilliant.
Did Buck really burn his Nike? I would love to see that video lol

If anyone doesn't want their Springsteen records anymore, please send them my way - then they will be banished from the USA.

Im just a casual Bruce fan,  but I find it surprising to read so much dislike for his music.  Its subjective, but Nebraska, Devils and Dust, My Hometown, 41 shots.  Come on, folks!! Must be something of his you like, no?

You know breaking bruce records  is a good idea.  Not because of a protest, but because Bruce makes freakin boring music.

Why would someone who wants to break Bruce records because they are boring have one in the first place. I hate Nickleback and would love to break some of their records, but I dont have any.

They sure as hell ain't boring.  If this were the 19th century, Dylan would be Emerson and Bruce would be Thoreau.  He writes more lyrics, meaningful ones, in one song than most writers do for an entire album.

nope, for the gym.  I won't boycott them, they make good athletic gear.  I do believe this marketing stunt was a poor business decision, however.

Their products are of high quality in my opinion as well. Ive also read their sales have soared in the time right after this "stunt" as you call it. I think it was a great idea by Nike. Considering what the black athletes have done for their brand, I think it was a great choice for them to take a stand.

It's so interesting that you say that.  Here's an excellent article from NRO addressing that very issue.  And the byline addresses Buck to a tee, evidently..

Nike is winning Colin Kapernick Wars..

Shares at an all time high does not suggest a poor business decision.

anytime you alienate any of your customers, it's a bad move.  Short-term boost, but it will hurt long-term sales.

I doubt it. No action will please everybody. Better to alienate a few of the dinosaurs and in the process capture many new customers.

Not if it draws a positive distinction against a competitor, it isn't bad.  Nike knows who buys 5 pairs of shoes a year... and it's not 55 year old white guys.  Nike knows how Colin is perceived in the international market.  They have now drawn, in their mind, a positive distinction against Under Armour and Adidas.  It's actually a brilliant move.
