They weren't lying to us when they reported that, they were telling us what they were being told through their contacts at the time. I have no problem with that, the fog after any incident is unavoidable. It's up to us as critical thinkers to know that.

Well, as a community, we should certainly be more vigilant and report anything that comes close to sounding like a specific threat. I don't know when, why or how the crossover from online troll to active assassin occurs--when sociopath morphs into psychopath morphs into mass murderer. ISIL recruits the same types of online presences because their minds are obviously already twisted/weak/broken.
this could be the start of radical muslims beginning to turn on their own and that could turn into a muslim civil war of sorts, just a thought.
