He announced it like he was ordering a #3 combo from Wendy's. I just messaged him on Twitter if he had any further information. We haven't gotten any reports of the band being in the studio, right?

Soundgarden is, which would make it pretty difficult for pj to do something. It's gonna be awhile

Exactly, I don't think any of us expect a new album until end of the year at the earliest. We could see a few shows, but this doesn't make much sense. We shall see if he responds to me.

That's a huge statement. A stadium tour AND a new album about to be announced?!?!!?

I was thinking the same thing. Something this major and he just casually drops this info like he was saying it's a nice day today.
    what the hell.
Not sure if this will make pjs management happy.

If the news is true, I can't imagine they are happy, if he has poor sources or info, just another day of conjecture.

Figure we will know one way or the other soon enough. The tour announcement wouldn't necessarily be a shocker, it's that other piece of news that's jaw dropping, if true.

Sorta fits with the way Bill Simmons is plugging PJ25 on his podcast 3 times a week and saying big things are ahead.

Ugh, I hope stadium tours don't become the norm.

Makes sense... stadium tour feels like the natural evolution right now to celebrate the HOF... and im sure they have plenty of saved up material from the last decade and can easily get together to record whenever they want... it's been almost 4 years since Lightning Bolt

Not sure why people think they have to announce to the world every time they get together to record. They tell us what yhey want to tell us, when they want to tell us

Same here. Unless you live outside the US, should we all be happy with being able to see a show?

I like to go to a lot of shows on a tour. If I went to one show I wouldn't care too much about the venue. But I wouldn't have much interest in traveling for a weeks worth of stadium shows. Sure, if I could have great seats each show or GA it would be a little better, but most seats at a stadium involve watching a screen.

    Agree 100%

A destination ballpark show once every couple of years is fine. An entire tour of US ballpark/stadium shows... No thanks.

I could see a tour happening, but not an album.

However, a politically charged album could come sooner than later....

RRHOF equals a lot of free good publicity for a band... and it cements them as an iconic band, that is still together as well... this provides them a great opportunity to sell product and tickets...

So to me, for 2017, a new album makes sense... the wrigley dvd makes sense... and a stadium tour makes sense

And releasing the wrigley dvd the same year you have a larger stadium tour makes even more sense

    I buy it

    This.......

I'm no snob, I'm grateful for every show I have the opportunity to see, and I've seen a good amount. With that being said, The smaller the better. I understand, seeing them in a 17k capacity arena isn't exactly intimate, but as compared to 40 or even 50k plus at a stadium, it is more intimate, & something will be lost IMO.

I'll still go see them, but I won't feel the need to take in more than 1-2 shows per tour.
