Nice. How do you like the sound? I have a Project Carbon (Wilco Scmilco Limited Edition) I have yet to open and set up. Not sure what I am waiting for.

Last Christmas was when I got my first player. Enjoy!

Just be careful, it can become addicting adding to your collection.

Goodbye extra money, but it is a delightful habit to have! I will admit that I don't buy everything on vinyl. What I do buy are just my favorites. Helps to control the spending a bit. Used bins are your friend. Congratulations! :rock_on:

Like everyone says, it can be a pricey habit, although if you focus more on used records it isn't as bad as it could be. But either way, it is a hobby well worth the expense. I wouldn't trade my collection back for the huge amount of money I've spent on it for anything. The extra-tangible musical joy it's brought me is priceless, plus there is the pleasure of learning about vinyl pressings, the industry, the best and worst sources, the artists' attitudes about their vinyl, the attention ot takes to get the harder-to-get releases you want, the hunt, etc etc etc - all that stuff that makes vinyl a hobby rather than just a music library. It's the best hobby of my life by far. :)

Well said PJ_Soul, I'd have to agree. And it's only going to get better for the OP, Lightning Bolt, what a terrible album that is..

 True, the path ahead for the OP can only get brighter (unless the next purchase happens to be Backspacer).

Those two albums should be wiped from the history of music, shockingly bad stuff from PJ..

Yeah they really have to get away from trying to write for the radio or something.

Op best of luck, it's an addiction for sure, but well worth it and a lot less dangerous than others you can have :)

Fact: You can never own enough Neil Young records

Advice: Don't buy a bunch of overpriced CD's pressed on wax... do your homework and only buy records that were recorded and mastered for vinyl

Listening to the Doors on a 45 on one of those child brief case record players when I was 12. Very scratchy I remember, but was amazed at the volume that little record player put out.

    Similar story..........Early 80s
I had Strawberry Fields/Penny Lane, Daydream Believer, Black Dog/Misty Mountain Hop, Catch the Wind by Donovan, Suzanne by Leonard Cohen. Wish I still had those records although my "toy" record player probably cut some new grooves.

So this thread has evolved into personal "My first vinyl experience...", well I really can't remember if it was my very first, but I can remember have a little turntable that I played the 'Super Bowl Shuffle' 45 and 'We Are the Champions' 45 on non-stop. Thought it was great. The player was a terrible though I remember having to put a coin in the tone arm to keep it from skipping.. I didn't know any better then..seemed fine..lol
