What do we want next... Lost Dogs 2 or Studio 11

JbarkerJbarker Alberta Posts: 557
I love the idea of another B-Side album to fill the void, leaving the guys time to complete #11.
Sweep up the dust and sprinkle in some Xmas singles. Just imagine the cuttings from Avocado!
However, it has been three years going on four and after #11, the stockpile would be more than sufficient for a thorough LD2.
Hmmm...

I think its too soon for Lost Dogs 2, unless there is a lot of unreleased material or they don't do a double album. Think about all the albums PJ made over the course of 13 years before releasing Lost Dogs... Ten, Vs, Vitalogy, No Code, Yield, Binaural and Riot Act. Since the release of Lost Dogs 13 years ago, the band has slowed down quite a bit releasing albums (Avocado, Backspacer, Lightning Bolt). Either way though, I'll take whatever they give us!

Wow what a great question. I'll go with LD 2. The last 2 studio albums have been good, but not near the top of my list. However, there are some B-sides out there floating around from previous sessions that I have really, really liked. Won't mention any names tho...

Lost Dogs. I think a lot of the cutting room floor stuff is what should have been on those records.

I'm good with either. I would imagine that another b-sides record would be faster because the songs are already recorded.

This. Also there should be enough material for a double b-sides album after 13 years....

Both. There should be enough material penned for a new disc. Lost Dogs II would already be in the can. I do not think that it would even be close to being as good as Lost Dogs I.

Lost Dogs 2 would be great to have come out but it would never live up to Lost Dogs 1 unfortunately due to creative changes and lack of music to choose from.

    Nah. Call it Stonehenge.

And these 2 are not mutually exclusive. They could both be done same year since 1 really only requires mixing and stuff and not the whole band writing and creating. If enough Lost Dogs stuff even exists.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

Good point. first thirteen years had a myriad of ups and downs which had a huge impact on the variety of even the B-sides, where as the second thirteen years is prob a whole lot more even keel... more settled so to speak. and only one drummer.
and the filler on an LD2 would be singles we've already heard.

If the material is there and boys are in the zone, give me #11, but if they need more time to fill an album, throw me some scraps.
