Willing to throw in a Wrigley Faile and/or Feldman as part of a deal if that motivates anyone to sell their 1998 Missoula. LMK.
  • Options
I also have a Seattle TOTD that could be part of a deal. The Seattle poster is the middle poster of the Ames west coast triptych.

Still looking, any help would be greatly appreciated.

    good luck bump...

I feel bad because I finally took mine to the professional framers today. Bought it at the outside merch booth and stashed it the car. Survived an entire road trip for newfoundland and back to victoria... but the walmart frame I had it in.. it caused some ripples :( Not too bad... but still..

I hope you find one... good luck!

    Thanks.

I would have picked one up but unfortunately this was before I collected posters and to be perfectly honest I didn't even realize there was a merch stand setup anywhere. I expect that this will be a multi-year effort on my part. I'm hoping that someone has one stuffed in the back of a closet somewhere that they will never frame and hang and decide to part with it. Fingers crossed.

I remember walking by and seeing it at a booth outside in the campus neighborhood near the bridge onto campus, but passed. Didn't know there were even show posters then. Got one in 2008 from from Expresso Beans for $400. It been framed and up on my wall for 9 years. I'm looking at it now as I type on my couch. Still love it!

Seriously? Mine's not mint (as it spent a few too many years in a cheap Walmart frame) but I had no idea these '98 posters were getting that kind of money. I thought $400 to $500 maybe... I feel bad for the OP now.. hopefully he finds one.

PJammer4life, do you have a link to that auction? I've been looking on ebay pretty much everyday since last August and I haven't seen one for sell yet.

I found it after I read his post last night. On ebay you click on advanced beside the search box and you can search through completed or sold listings:

Curious why that one never showed up previously. Considering the fact that it sold for an even $1200 and the fact that I didn't even see it listed that must have been a buy it now listing. Seems like the buyer overpaid when the previous 3 that sold just last year were all less than $500.

Maybe. Could of been a long while since the last one got sold. If your trying to track something down, you never it see it for sale, and you've got the funds. That might make you jump on it, even if it's expensive :( The '98's are getting harder and harder to find as people buy them, frame them, and put them on their walls. In essence every time one sells on ebay/expresso beans it feels like its taken out of circulation.

There's two show versions for Missoula 98. I got lucky and picked one of the Ames comic style up for $300 a few years ago. But I routinely see the multi show Pilate go on eBay for $50 - $75. Missed a couple bids to get one but I wasn't working hard enough.

I've never heard of the 2nd one? Do you have an image of it?

Thanks VOLARE, I was completely unaware of the second one. I'm still keeping my eyes peeled for an Ames bigfoot version, but I may just have to buy a Pilate one in the meantime until a bigfoot turns up.

That's the summer 98 VOLARE mentioned, same design as one of the OZ 98 event posters.

    fake ^^^

Yah I'm just reading the comments now. I don't get though, how someone could fake it that quickly. IE the seller states he bought it from a guy immediately after the show. There's no way bootleggers have the capability to buy the poster in the afternoon, and have replica's out by 11pm? Especially at a time when posters weren't popular or going for much? I'm kind of thinking it's real. In the pictures it looks very much like mine. Maybe the bootlegger bought the last of them before the show, and sold them for a profit after the show? That seems more realistic?

I just have a hard time buying framed posters if someone can't tell me how the print was matted.

That's true. It would suck if it was drymounted :(

I'd spend $50 to have it but not too much more.
