As for the vote/protest, at least from my personal experience, I have found that the younger crowd is more apt to complain, protest, etc. than actually take action. But again, just my experience, a small sample set. It's a pretty apathetic area I live in.
Grand adventures indeed! The grandest was climbing the Innsbrucker Kletterstieg, then paddling the Adriatic. Since then it has topped more than a dozen mountains in the Alps, Rockies, Blue Ridge, Alleghany Front, and Mt Washington with the world's worst weather. Rivers, lakes, ponds, and rambles in the woods are like appetizers for that hardy patch!
