European summer tours tend to get announced early if they are built around the festival season. Possible Australia in February with Europe to follow. Maybe some west coast US in the fall.
Didn't they play Pemberton (close enough to Vancouver), Ottawa, Torontox2 and Quebec City this year? Makes me kind of doubt a Canadian tour next year. I doubt they'd repeat those places two years in a row. You can't really ever say never, but it's doubtful to happen. The odds of a cross Canada tour without those cities seems unlikely? A Prairie/Atlantic tour? lol.
I don't think they'll tour at all in 2017. They've done Lightning Bolt 2013-2016 steadily with little to no break.
No break? They work at most 30 days a year! Lol
They are obviously working more than just show days, but I agree with your overall point.
They've played 95 shows in just under 3 years (Dec of 2013 to Aug of 2016). While it seems like a lot for them, compared to most, that doesn't seem like very much.

Right, look at 2015. They toured for the month of November. That's it. If taking a year off isn't a long enough break then I don't know what is. Anyway, we know PJ's touring schedule. Look at the last 10 years and it is easy to expect that they'll play their 15-25 shows again in 2017. Easy money. Pays for their non-PJ interests and charitable endeavors. They need PJ for money.
Well they have rehearsals, travelling, it all adds up. I wouldn't blame them for taking the next year off.

This seems too cynical to me. If PJ is playing concerts because they need money then literally everything they do, from not gauging fans for tickets to always acting super appreciative to their fans, is a front. I don't buy it.
It's probably a bit of both. I don't think they make a mint of sales of merch from the 10c store. The cool stuff is usually limited edition. There's so few copies they can't really make that much off it. Bands don't make much off album sales anymore. Bread and butter is for making money is touring. They probably like playing concerts, but they need to make money too. Nothing wrong with liking your job
Vegas hasn't been played since '06... Just sayin'...

I'm confident about West Coast dates based on how they took almost all of 2015 off, and simply haven't played out west since 2013. That's a long, long time for this band not to play in certain spots in the US. Especially where they're quite popular - California, Washington.

What I want is a Cleveland and Midwest and west coast tour

I actually think it would be ballsy to tour a 4 year old album in 2017. Would love to see the band and all it's side bands put out some new material. Maybe Jeff needs to fire up Three Fish again.
I'm hoping they play somewhere in Europe in July/Aug so that it works out with a vacation. But I could see them doing western Canada and then south down the west coast. Winnipeg > Calgary > Vancouver > Seattle > Portland > San Fran > LA > Vegas > Phoenix > Dallas > Houston
