  • Eddie's a Cubs fan. Only reason Wrigley gets any sort of special boxed set. The Fenway shows were better overall.

Went to both Fenways and Wrigley #2...all were just incredible, historic shows. However, if I absolutely had to pick one of them I'm leaning toward Fenway #1

Was just thinking, there is still hope for a Fenway Bluray/DVD. Maybe they just didn't release the Wrigley boots because they're going to "officially" release a Gorge-like set at retail outlets.

I'd like all the shows to be released on Bluray (including Wrigley '13)

I wouldn't say it's the best but Fenway 1 is definitely the most underrated of the four shows.

That's a good point JP. This all could just be a CD release for Wrigley and who knows if any DVD/Blu-ray's will come for any of the shows. You all can stop trying to poop on the Wrigley shows now :)
  • Having been at both Fenway shows I would say the first night as a whole was better but I think everyone was so blown away by the second encore on night 2 that it is getting more love. I loved the setlist night 1 from top to bottom.

  • wrigley 1!!!!! way underrated! if you weren't choked up and inspired when Gleason came out your a liar. not saying that was the best show but that moment was the best moment in my 40 shows going all the way back to 1994

The Wrigley 1 setlist was amazing for me. So many songs I had been dying to hear....Sad, Light Years, Amongst the Waves, Inside Job...wow! But I enjoyed Wrigley 2 more. Part of it is that I had GA for Wrigley 2, where I had mediocre seats for Wrigley 1. I think that greatly affects everyone's perception of shows - how good or bad their seats were. The closer you are to the stage, the more the crowd is in to it. Either way, these shows were amazing and I don't quite get how some are painting the Wrigley shows as inferior.

FWIW - I wasn't at Fenway, but I did buy the Fenway 2 bootleg and I love it to death. It's an amazing bootleg. I listen to it more than the boots for the shows I was actually at (the 2 MSG shows and Lexington).

  • I do agree. a show is a show. depending on where u sit if they play a special song ect ect. there's a lot that can factor in someone else perspective on a show. just feel lucky u have legs to stand there. feel lucky you have working ears to listen or eyes to see! way more important shit in life rather than whether or not you were at the best pearljam show.

I wasn't at both I was only at Wrigley, and I really enjoyed the Wrigley shows. I loved the setlists, and I loved the nostalgia Ed had for the place (the stories he told). That being said, as long as the oriignal poster was at both I'll consider it a valid opinion. On paper I like the Wrigley setlists a bit more, but I wasn't at Fenway so I can't compare the two.

btw They probably planned filming/releasing the Wrigley shows long before they played either venue.

Speaking for only the two Fenway shows which I went too.
At the time I thought that Fenway2 was way better, but it was because of the crowd was much better.
I tend to listen to Fenway1 more now that I have both bootlegs.

It's a fun tongue in cheek debate that we'll get to have forever because all four shows were awesome.

I was at both Fenway shows, in the same exact section for both, and Fenway night 2 was far superior to 1. The crowd on night two was more present and the band fed off of that energy. You could feel the electricity in the air. Also, Eddie's voice sounded a lot better on night 2.
1991- Hollywood Palladium, California with Temple of the Dog, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains -RIP Magazine Show Oct. 6th
    1992- Lollapalooza, Irvine, California
    Nothing since then. I suck.
2016- Fenway Park, Boston - Both glorious nights
    2022- Oakland Night 2
