Hey all, anyone notice on their new No Code vinyl a lyric change? "Circumstance, clapping hands" is something different now...

    There are a few songs from that set that are slightly different. Black with the intro, Who You Are lyric change, SOLAT has some added phaser in there, Alive was maybe the version that ended up 4 years later on the Ten re-issue (same with Once).

    Seeing as I don't have either reissue yet I have no idea what's going on in here! You're saying that on who you are in the new reissue the lyrics aren't "circumstance, clapping hands?"

    This is a technical matter. The "Avalanche" was most likely a lyric that was used in a final edit, but at the time the band used a previous mix, for whatever reason..... Now 20 years later, as they go to remaster, the only version available is the last one they recorded, hence the "Avalanche" lyric. I'm sure it was a last minute vocal overdub that was never used, and now is all that is available.

    It's one of my favorite songs... I hold the original pretty dear, so the lyric change catches me off guard.

    It's not that I think the change is inferior, but I have been listening to the original for 20 years.. So it's hard to swallow.

    I'm guessing they have a different version marked as "Master" so when they grabbed it for RVM they grabbed this different take. And then when they went to do these, they grabbed it again.

    Glad people found something to complain about with the reissues I was getting worried about the boards
