Its not going to be Brian Fallon. I understand some people on here enjoy Gaslight but nobody knows who the dude is in the grand scheme of things. They are still basically a small club band with very few/if any big songs
before you said gaslight anthem I had zero idea who brian fallon was.
my guess is brenda obrien will insist he inducts them. then plays keys with them for their performance.
Thanks Tiki! Just voted and noticed PJ in 4th place and I think only top 5 get in. Maybe this thread should shut down until the deal is sealed and redirect our efforts for voting for what we all assumed would be a first ballot HOF. Journey and ELO are dominating the vote; perhaps rightly so. Just not wanting us to count our chickens...

Eh. Ed's shared the stage with Brian a couple of times. I think he should be at least in the general conversation. Does he get it? Most likely not. But he'd be interesting. John Mayer is an interesting comment. While he's a big fan and a large name in the music world, if the dates line up like I think they do, he will be promoting a new record around the time of the induction. That never hurts ones chances.
Journey is so effing overrated. I go to a lot of weddings and I always cringe when the djs bust out the Dont Stop Believing. That song sucked in 1983 and still sucks today.
Yes, PJ, The Cars, The J. Geils Band, and ELO were my choices.
Heard a great interview with Marc Maron. (Mentioned PJ for 2 seconds, btw) I think he'd be a great presenter.
I'm a big Maron fan, but I don't think he's really that big of a PJ fan. I hear him talk about Nirvana a lot more than PJ.

I was teetering between ELO and The Zombies... went with The Zombies. Otherwise we're spot on.
And Don't Stop Believing is the WORST song of all time. You're so right about weddings, and I'll throw in bars too. I was never a big fan of Journey to begin with, and our local radio station has made them absolutely intolerable. This is not an exaggeration - if you listen to "GO 106" for an hour - any day, any time - you are guaranteed to hear at least one Journey song. They've been doing that since I was a kid and here I am damn near 40. At least 24 times a day, every day of my entire life. It's like the station thinks they're still a top 40 band. It makes my god damn ears bleed.

Question is, how will all of the drummers be handled? 4 should make it in right? Pretty cool that this will be the second time in for low key Jack.
depends on the hall. the band has zero input. which is weird, since everyone blamed Metallica for Dave Mustaine not being inducted. it's so stupid how it works. there is no consistency. Dave Mustaine wrote more in Metallica than Jason Newsted ever did, for example.
I have a feeling, since the 5 of them have been together now for longer than any other incarnation of the band, and it being the current lineup, no other drummers will be inducted. If they do Jack, it would be odd not to do Dave A. I mean, they both played on two albums each.
