For shows I was at (last 4) Fenway 2 was the best. 30 PJ songs and a handful of good ones they don't always play - In Hiding, Hail Hail, Not for You, Breath, and NAIS. Of the shows I was not at Quebec City was the best. 32 PJ songs! Do I recall correctly that Stone did the Quebec City set list? With a few exceptions like Baba and Crazy Mary I am not a big fan of covers so I tend to compare by # of PJ songs and of course the quality of the songs.

Yeah, Stone did that setlist. It was my first It's OK, and the only GA show for me this year, so that definitely tainted my view.

Hmmm... If you like a covers heavy set, Lexington has to be near the top. Wrigley 2 was special for any hardcore fan because of the rarities. Philly Ten was probably most epic. Greenville is the sleeper pick though. Solid and a lot of attention paid because of the NC drama. Fenway 2 rounds out the top 5. If you saw those 5 you would have got every flavor of how PJ builds a set I think.

Whole album shows require little creativity and thought imo. In fact it s pretty lazy when you think about it.

I agree. This tour totally rocked. The band has really branched out. I still can't believe they played angel, let me sleep, strangest tribe, ect.

Every set had something special in it and to think that they left these gems out of the whole tour.

Attended both Toronto shows and the Fenway shows - I can't choose - they were all fantastic. However, the sound during the actual shows at Fenway Park and on the bootlegs is superior to the home town Toronto shows

Went to 10 shows this year. I think my top 3 in no order would be Lexington, Quebec City, and Telluride.

Went to more show this year than any other (14). For me, I would have to say it was Fenway 1, followed by a tie between Quebec City, Ottawa (All or none and Parachutes!!), and Toronto 1, also Wrigley 2, Philly 2, Lexington, wait....they were all awesome!!!

I think the way to decide here is pick the one show you didn't attend that you wish you had been at. That's the only way to be in bias and truly honest.

If I do that, I have to pick Greenville.

Whole album shows require little creativity and thought imo. In fact it s pretty lazy when you think about it.

Pearl Jam playing a whole album for the first (and maybe only time) and 20+ other songs...yea that is lazy, lol. I'd say it puts a little pressure on the band because each song represents a whole and they want to represent it right. Moreover, it may require more instrument changes than normal because many times a random setlist takes into account what guitars are being used so a change may not be necessary to quickly flow to the next song---that requires more work on everybody's part to get right. In fact, your opinion is pretty lazy when you think about it.

Ok... I actually noticed 1 thing in common with the shows everyone is saying we're a top (MSG/Philly/toronto/wrigley/fen/greenville). Lexington has highlights from all those shows plus satan's bed (only played at that show). Plus awesome covers, plus a mix of great classics and enough energy to keep a lively crowd all night.

I guess I am saying Lexington is the strong dark horse and so is greenville. Lexington has a lot of highlight moments from a lot of shows that people are saying are among the better of the tour so if you want a mix of philly/fen/wrigley/toronto/tele etc... Check out lexington.

  • Of the four shows I went to (Wrigley I and II, Toronto I and II), I liked Toronto I's setlist the best. Of the shows I wish I was able to go to Fenway II Lexington and Quebec stand out as shows that I would have loved to have seen.

As a side note, I'd really like to see Pearl Jam pull out some new closers. Baba, RITFW and Alive are YLB are getting worn out.

Philly 2 looked pretty stellar, but I'd have to go with Wrigley 2.
Setlist was too good, including the first encore. Crowd energy and band energy were great.
Oceans into Footsteps into Off He Goes as the opening 3. Betterman batting cleanup.
Don't Gimme No Lip, Sonic Reducer, and Blood to close out encore 1.
Yellow Ledbetter followed by I've Got A Feeling to close out the night.
Deep, Surrender, Black Red Yellow, Immortality, Of The Earth... great mixture of material and great flow. The band seemed to be enjoying it.
