This remastered release will contain bonus tracks featuring Eddie Vedder, as well as liner notes from him.

From Eddie: “I’ve been a massive fan of Simon Townshend since the early 80s.  His record from back then, ‘Sweet Sounds’, is an unheralded masterpiece.  Now comes ‘Looking Out Looking In’ and I’m blown away.  I would place it amongst his best work.  Incredible how he just gets better and better”.

    I wonder if these will be proper studio tracks or just the live performances they did together in 2014.

    New line up, new mixes, new era…

    Tonight in Milan is the last Who show before the Santa Barbara Bowl, the big desert trip (Coachella) and Mexico shows in October. Before that I’m releasing, Looking Out Looking In and Denial (my last two US releases) in the UK on my new label, Stir Records. They have been remastered at Abbey Road, with Denial also being completely remixed. Both albums have new bonus tracks and some cool additions including new artworks and liner notes done by none other than Pete Townshend and Eddie Vedder. Eddie also added his vocal to She Asked Me and Pino Palladino has laid down an amazing new bass line on it too. Danny Thompson and Mark Brzezicki recorded new double bass and percussion parts respectively to a new acoustic version of I’m The Answer with lead vocal by Eddie Vedder. It has been really lovely to work with these guys, especially such a great experience to work with my old friend Eddie at his incredible home studio in Seattle.

    By way of promotion, I’m doing a Q&A style acoustic show with guest host writer Pat Gilbert, from Mojo Magazine, at Home House in London on the 28th Sept. Following this I am performing a full band show at The Islington on the 30th Sept. For the latter, usual suspect Phil Spalding will be on bass, joined by my eldest son and former STB / Animal Soup member, Ben Townshend on drums. Mike Wilton, guitarist / songwriter of The Standard Lamps is playing lead guitar… A new line up for a new era. For anyone interested, here is a ticket link:

    About Looking Out Looking In

    Simon Townshend’s 2012 US release, LOOKING OUT LOOKING IN, is being released in the UK for the first time on his own UK label, Stir Records. The album was remastered at Abbey Road and contains new bonus tracks featuring Eddie Vedder, as well as additional liner notes from him.

    Eddie added his vocal to She Asked Me, with a brand new bass line laid down by Pino Palladino. There is also a new acoustic version of I’m the Answer, with lead vocal by Eddie Vedder as well as upright bass and percussion parts from Danny Thompson and Mark Brzezicki.

    Simon Townshend had the honor of opening the evening festivities at "Celebrating THE WHO with Pete Townshend & Eddie Vedder" at the Rosemont Theatre, Rosemont Il, May 14, 2015.

    He performed "Leaving This Town" and "Forever And A Day" and then was joined by Eddie Vedder for "She Asked Me" and "I'm The Answer"

    Special guests Joan Jett, Joe Walsh and Rick Nielsen joined Eddie Vedder, Pete Townshend and the Who touring band performing Who songs all to helped raise money for Teen Cancer America and other teenage cancer programs.

    LOOKING OUT LOOKING IN is completely remastered and features Eddie Vedder on two bonus tracks (he also contributed liner notes).
