I made the mistake of mentioning to my wife that it is coming back on....only a mistake in the sense that she wants us to watch it together and that means 1 episode a night @ best most times.  (She doesn't stay up until 2-3 in the morning drinking vodka and watching silly TV shows....she is smarter than I am.)

I think either include "SPOILER" as the first word in the post, wait a week, or just say what you want because why would anyone be reading this thread to talk about Season 1 still.

Finished S2 last night and loved it. Great additions of Max and Sean Astin from The Goonies as Bob.

yeah i liked them as well, I thought Sean's character may have been involved with the thing for some reason (there was scene towards the end which is why i thought of it). max's brother, obviously didn't care for him.  the doctor was a surprise for me, thought he was gonna turn out to be a "bad guy"

Paul Reiser could never be a bad guy.

Finished up S2 tonight.  I thought it was even better than Season 1 (or I just have a short memory).  Great stuff.  Sucks the seasons are so short.  Wonder what next season will bring.  Is papa really still alive?

I finished season 2 last night.  I enjoyed but I think season one was better.  I seriously thought Max's brother was involved somehow.  Especially with how he didn't want her hanging around anyone.  Mike's mom sure did like him....lol

I have only watched the first three or four episodes so far, so haven't read any of this thread, but so far I like better than the first season, and I really enjoyed the first season. It's scarier and has more tension this time around IMO, but they also had more fun with it at the same time.

I was reading some reviews about the season.  I'm glad my brain doesn't overanalyze shows and movies like some people.  Would suck the fun out of it.

I actually thought Season 2 was pretty mediocre up until the final two episodes. Totally redeemed the season.
I'm guessing we will see the Shadow Monster return a couple seasons down the line and a new Monster for Season 3.
And so you see, I have come to doubt

I think the creators said that season 4 will be the final season. Based on that I think we’ll get a more stripped down, close and personal season 3 with a big final battle royal in season 4.

I completely agree. I thought season 1 was rock solid but I was amazed by the amount of hype it got. I think season 2 is much more deserving of said hype. Which is a huge credit to the show runners, usually when something massively over performs like season 1 of Stranger Things did, they throw a bunch of money at it and the story ends up lacking because of it. Not at all the case here though.

This leads me to a question though, do streaming services have a higher profit margin than network or cable tv does? Because it really seems like they do a much better job at just giving creators money and letting them do whatever they want, vs trying to interfere too much like network and cable channels sometimes do. There is a lot of completely mediocre and underwhelming stuff on the streaming services, but then there is a pretty nice sized handful of stuff that’s better than just about anything else on tv.
  • OK!

    Finished up Season 2!!!

WTH is up with 008?  I'm glad that her story line ended quickly as I was very unhappy with it.  I'm sure she will be back though to help defeat the demigorgons.

What is the purpose of Max' brother?  I don't really care about her back story either so I hope they don't waste a future episode on it.

Water.  Water. Water.  Bob had mentioned that all the tunnels go everywhere the water isn't.  Also the sprinkler that went off in the stairwell bothered the demidog.  So is water the answer to finishing them off?

Solid season 2.  They better start filming as these kids are growing up quick!

Has anyone else noticed that the cast is JUST LIKE "IT"?!?  How it's filmed reminded me of the original IT.

    Thoughts?

Yeah, lots of Stephen King parallels and some references as well.  (Blue Bayou was funny)

I enjoyed it -- thought the middle episodes were the best of S2 - but liked the fresh feeling of S1 better.
I am sure to watch S3 but don't have high expectations.  I kind of wanted more of the 'bad' 008 and pals.

I couldn't get over Fat Hobbit being in the show, he was totally distracting.  I was rooting for the demidogs against Samwise.

This is what I'm thinking, yes.

There has to be more to it!
