How hard was it to get Wrigley tickets day of show in 2013?

I'm just wondering, because I'm considering going. But it's a big risk to book hotels, flights, etc. to possibly come out empty handed. Plus it looks like there is a lot of demand on the board obviously. Just need 2 for night 1. Thanks in advance.

    There was little to no supply the day of the show. Over the several hours we spent pre-show around Wrigleyville I saw maybe five people selling tix and they were all going for crazy high dollars. I think the supply will perhaps be slightly better this year given they've played it before and there's two shows.

    Keep your eyes on the boards in the coming weeks. Sellers should appear w/ more frequency as we get closer to show time. Best of luck!!

    It was brutal the day of the show in 13'. I've never had an issue finding tickets before and have taken many trips, some out of the country, with no tickets in hand and never had a problem until Wrigley. We spent the better part of the day searching EVERYWHERE for tickets and finally two hours before show time broke down and spent big bucks with a local broker.

    As the above person posted, I do think it will be better this time around with the novelty slightly worn off and two shows being played, but it's still going to be tough. You will be able to find tickets, that I'm sure of..and hopefully at not too crazy of a price, but bring the wallet just in case if you don't find anything before hand.

    It was a ridiculous demand with lots of fake tickets floating around. Ticket brokers were offering way above asking for GA as well since they know they could turn a profit easily since demand was so low. I bet this year won't be as bad, especially with 2 shows. Best of luck OP.

    I would still book the trip. Although the chances of scoring tickets the day of the show are not highly favorable, it does not mean there isn't a chance. And if you roll the dice and come up short, you still have options! I have heard of many people heading up to some of the rooftop bars early, and securing a not so great, but decent view to the show and only having to pay about a $50.00 entry fee per person. Might not be the ultimate experience you are looking for, but it beats getting completely shut out, and still being able to enjoy the show. Good luck OP.

    While on the horrendous merch line for Wrigley '13, a friend of the person standing next to me was able to get tickets through a last minute ticket drop (she had been re-freshing the Ticketmaster site for a few hours). Couldn't tell you where those seats were located, but she was in the building. So it is possible, but I wouldn't bet everything on it.

    Rooftops were available, friend got a ticket for $100 at 7:30. unlimited food and beer. View was pretty much only the crowd but the sound was the same

    If you wait by the box office there is always a ticket drop day of (happened around 5:30 in 2013). I got a friend field seats just by hanging there until it happened.

    There is a legit ticket broker just beneath the "L" tracks that sometimes get's extras after people pick up their tix from the window. It's a shot in the dark, but TM people also bring their tix there looking for a quick buck. Go to Cubbie Bear, Murphy's, and a few of the other bars up/down Clark st. Sometimes people with extra tix let the bartenders know and they do the work for them.

    I realize that you are from Chicago but do you or anyone else know if Fenway has anything like this set up?

    I saw many looking for tickets, but no one selling in 2013...and I was there all day for 2 days straight. I wouldn't take the chance

    Based on what I'm hearing/seeing, Sat night is going to be a tough ticket to get. Gold Coast Tickets, and Stub Hub have tix for high prices. Monday might be easier. Weather is always a concern in Chicago, If anything like 2013, tix may be available day of show, from people looking for a fast buck. If it's a beautiful night, it will be a tough ticket to get. Can't wait!!!

    While it was really, really tough to get an "honest" ticket (i.e., from a fan with an extra and not through scalpers or scammers) I feel like if you make the trip, you will get in. The demand will be much lower (albeit still really high) since there are multiple stadium shows this summer. Also, you don't have lunatics like me booking a plane ticket to Chicago the day of the show without a ticket (and getting very, very lucky with a face value seat from a friend of a friend) because now I can just head up to Boston a couple weeks earlier to get my summer PJ fix. That being said, I'm sure I'll be figuring out a way to get back to Wrigley! Good luck!

    I would have booked everything myself as well bud. In the words of Leash "We will find a way" you will manage to enjoy the show one way or another. Just remember, if for whatever reason you completely strike out (no pun intended) in scoring tix you still have options, like rooftop bars. Although, I do believe you will find tix. Just remember to head to the stadium early as they do release a limited amount of tix the day of the show. At least they did in 2013. Furthermore, there will be other options for tix. See you in Wrigley bud, less than a month away now!

    Hell yeah! Thanks for the motivation. It will be a great time regardless and Chicago is an awesome place to visit. It's a no lose situation.

    Anyone know what time the ticket drop was at the box office last year? Was there a ticket drop on the tickets.com site also?

    With a little help from some friends i was able to sell my two tickets for the 2013 show and secure two better seats for myself all the day of. Also saw someone get two sets of fake tickets offered to them tho, so its possible but be careful!
