Heres a couple more since you mentioned it. There's a few for The Skins who requested a few demo's for "Possible" future commissioned work (Actually Adrian Grenier did), Harbourfest (First fully Commissioned poster - (This image has an error on it but the actual final product was corrected) One other PJ poster I found on my phone, and a few commissioned posters for a small band that doesn't even exist any more.

Some are done on paper and then scanned and or photographe'd and uploaded to photoshop then manipulated...and some are done directly in corel draw with my drawing pad which is still technically by hand but direct to digital format. Then that image is uploaded to phtoshop where I do my letters and filters, and additional design.

    Lovely work!

I really like that there are no limits whatsoever...just do what you feel like. "I'll throw a monkey in there" or "Let's have som people with trains for heads...or an eagle dressed as an indian!"

I've been doing a lot from the early days but I try to stick to shows that didn't have posters made for them - although a few I've done had posters, but I wanted to do my own take on them. I'll Post those when completed)

So what exactly are the legalities? I ask because there are a couple of gaping holes in my collection. Two of the Pearl Jam shows I have been to (Charlotte & Greensboro in 2000) had no official posters specific to the shows. Are there reasons that you cannot produce posters for those or any other shows that did not have official posters? I know that there are multiple shows that did not end up with an official poster for one reason or another....

Putting Pearl Jam''s name on anything and/or using specific fonts even using the letters PJ are in violation or PJ''s IP as I don't have permission to create and sell such items. Making them for myself is one thing, sharing my designs for discussion etc is okay but once you try to sell these items at least publicly is a big No No. (That hasn't stopped people at festivals and markets selling essentially illegal items and gwtting away with it but I'm not about to get into doing that....I'm just building up my design portfolio which so far has gained a little attention especially now since I've been officially commissioned for a few posters which makes me a little bit more legit. :-)

I think your font work / lettering is much stronger on the more recent pieces of work. You are really talented. Great lettering work where it feels like a part of the art always catches my eye right away.

Thanks so much. Appreciate it. I love doing it. Most posters were designed to be printed on 300 paper...and now I'm started to make an attempt at converting or creating for screen printing but it's a bit of a learning curve....

If I ever get permissions which is a long shot if not a pipe dream - since its not really the band making these decisions - well at least I don't think so - I'm sure they have a marketing team for that now - but IF, that was to ever happen, I will certainly let you know.

    Cheers!

Good that you are cognizant of the legal issues. I was wondering about the person selling those custom hand painted Chucks for a few hundred bucks on Etsy.

Those are kind of the ones that get away with it somehow - then sometimes they get pulled I'm sure - (It's impossible to monitor the entire internet) But I guess if people are willing to buy it then no one can really stop them. (I'm not part of that however)

Just as an FYI, venue in Mansfield was not known as the Xfinity Center in 2000, was the Tweeter Center back then.

    This weekend we rock Portland
