Ashes and the reign

Rest in the quite shadows of the moon
Watches as the carousel horses drift around her room
Silently moving through a kaleidoscope of time
Holding an umbrella to protect her from the reign.

The stampede of voices that call out her name
Whisper promises that create illusions in this game
And she sits quietly in a kaleidoscope of time.

Touching her fingers together one at a time
Counting the reign drops she sees in her mind
Confusion and passion paint the leaves on a tree
As they fall all around her she closes her eye’s
So nobody can see.

Ashes sits waiting for the carousel horses to take her away
And one must wonder and many may cry
As she’s touching each finger together one at a time.

I asked her a question
How far away is the moon
She stopped counting her fingers
And said it’s here in my room.

Touch me with your heart
Tell me what your eye’s may see
For I can no longer remember
Why we came here or who we wanted to be.

Ashes sits waiting closing her eye’s so nobody can see.
