$37.50 shipping! Damn, probably be able to get it cheaper on Ebay after lol

Last time I added some other stuff from the store to spread the shipping costs out, I'm going to wait for a few things that I want and do it again, costs more in the end, but if it's stuff you would buy anyway, helps with the shipping cost of the vault.... or at least I tell myself it does. :)

Its so stupid that they ship separately too, at least if you could get more than one you could split cost with a couple people.

If they weren't getting the vinyl treatment there is no way I would buy them. Before the vinyl, I just used my 10C download code to get Vice theatre, and I don't know if I have even listened to Vault 1. But as records they are fantastic.

I wish they would make this (at least) a bi-annual thing. This way the next chance of getting a show with Jack Irons (or one of the other 25+ real gems that might be out there) would'nt be at least 18 months (I'm talking about receiving the actual item) away (hello 2018). LA '98 is ok - but the way they choose these shows implicates that there's way less material to choose from than we all hope.

Well we know how material there is to choose from by the process of elimination. There is a ton of material. Many shows were never officially released, and I doubt a huge amount of those suck way too much to release. But I'm sure the band has their faves (and least faves) for various reasons, and they are just going through those.

When it comes to complete recordings I don't think there's a ton to choose from for the years 1993 to the first half of 1998. I don't think it comes down to "suckage" or what the band prefers - it comes down to what is complete (or nearly complete) and ready to go. The 1998 american-leg is ready to go, hence: 2 of 6 vault shows are from that 98-leg and there has also been "Live on 2 Legs". I don't think there's much ready to go/complete stuff from 95 and 96. If there was, why choose yet another 98 US-leg show?

There could be many possible reasons for picking another 98 show. I don't assume it's for lack of other material to choose from though.

Out of the other 98 shows, what is significant about this one in particular to make it a Vault release?

Wait.... I procrastinated last year and they announced the mad season vinyl's. I was able to combine all the records into one order to save on shipping.

I now kind of wish I held off in the No Code/Yield reissues. I could of combined them with the vault. I'll probably hold off on vault in case they having something else before the end of August that i can combine shipping with.

    07/13/98 – The Forum: Inglewood, CA [107m]
    attendance: 15,500
support act: X and Tenacious D
soundcheck: Even Flow, Not for You, Spin the Black Circle, Whipping, Leaving Here, Last Exit, Alive riff, Present Tense, Off He Goes (first three songs may not be in order)
set: Sometimes, Corduroy, Hail Hail, Brain of J, In Hiding, Even Flow, Given to Fly, MFC, Not for You, Wishlist, Jeremy, Do the Evolution, Dissident, Present Tense, Spin the Black Circle, Rearviewmirror, Go
enc 1: Elderly Woman, Better Man/(Save It For Later), Daughter/(I Must Not Think Bad Thoughts), Alive
    enc 2: Baba O’Riley
notes: The opening act, Tenacious D, are two guys with acoustic guitars who are VERY funny. Ed introduces them, saying something like, “Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath will not be here tonight as scheduled. Instead, their bastard child, Tenacious D!” ;) Mr. McCready is wearing a dress and fishnet stockings. The band seems rested from Las Vegas and in a good mood. ‘Wishlist’ last lines are modified to, “I wish I got to play in a band, and open up for X. I wish, I wish, I could tell you, they’ll be out here next.” Mike gets tackled by Ed at the end of ‘STBC,’ and he spins him around by his ankles. Ed mentions that Mike Watt gave him a book before ‘Elderly Woman,’ and quotes a line from Willy Wonka, “Do you know what happened to the boy whose wishes all came true? He lived happily ever after.” A great moment during ‘Elderly Woman:’ at the song’s climax … “I just want to scream HELLO!!! My God it’s been so long. Never dreamed you’d return, but now here you are [looking out to the crowd, bright white lights on] and here I am.” Ed comments that they are lucky to play the Forum, that the crowd is lucky to play in the Forum. Also that it not the Great Western Forum to them, but “The Fabulous Forum.” The ‘Daughter’ tag is once again an X song. ‘Alive’ includes a tease of the Black Sabbath song ‘Heaven and Hell’ in the ending jam and the behind the head guitar work. An incredible ‘Baba O’Riley,’ with all of them simply going off. Ed spills Heineken all across the stage and during the final notes, he gets a running start and slides on his knees with his guitar across the stage (much as in the movie The Kids are Alright where Townshend does this during ‘Won’t Get Fooled Again’). Then Ed breaks his red Gibson SG. A hard-driving show.

I think it was Zod (?) who said that he ordered the last Vault with some other stuff at the same time and it saved him some money on shipping.
