I use Japanese resealable thick mylar outer sleeves. I think they are fantastic!

    Definitely agree with this.
(and FWIW, Neil Young apparently agrees too ;) ).

Do you get these through Amazon or does your local record shop carry these?

They don't have any locally. Never checked on Amazon. I buy them off eBay from a shop in Japan. I use the same mylar sleeves for my 7" & 12" records.

If you're looking for affordable outer sleeves.... I find that just about anything works. I just grab whatever they happen to have for outer sleeves at the store. All the same shit IMO (I personally wouldn't want resealable ones because it's a slight pain in the ass to have to open and close them).

I've been using these for a while and feel they might be the best on the market. The outer sleeves are crystal clear, artwork looks great :) MoFi makes excellent inner sleeves as well.

A lot of my albums were from my parents or my friends parents...you can feel the wear on the jackets with your fingertips, kind of like the paper is decaying with every touch.I really prefer to pull out my albums with a clear sleeve, it just feels cleaner.
I usually just buy whatever my local shop has, you get a deal at 50 or 100, but I'm genuinely interested in something that people would recommend as a better product.

Save your money and just take good care of your records. Clean them regularly, don't use them as frisbees, etc., etc., you get the idea.

Taking care of them is definitely the way to go BUT when you spend so much on records you want to go the extra mile. Get rid of those paper sleeves they usually come in and get proper sleeves (referring to inner sleeves on this one)!! Outer sleeves is not so much of a big deal if the OP was referring to those!

    Cheers!
