Man of the Hour at Madison Square Garden in 2016

This is the one song I'm really chasing....I've come oh so close, many times, but just missing it. Would love to hear this song ring out throughout the hallowed MSG...

    I've got quite a fond memory of this song.

    My father took me to see the movie Big Fish when I was much younger (didn't even know who PJ was at the time). Then in '06, (when I already was a huge PJ fan) my Dad took me to my first PJ show. Ed played "Man of the Hour" followed by "Comeback."

    In between the songs, Ed said (paraphrasing) "that last song is about someone who you know is about to go, and this next one takes place a few months after they've gone."

    My father passed away of cancer a few short months later. I played Man of the Hour for my dad on the guitar during his memorial service.

    Ironically, today (or rather yesterday. It's 2AM here) is his would be 64th birthday. Thank you for helping me recall these fond memories of my dad.

    Thanks for sharing that beautiful memory. My father passed when I was 14. This song meant so much to me then, and even more so now.

    I would love to hear this song, once and for all.

    I finally got it at Philly 1 last year. That and Release were the two that I was chasing.

    I fully support this I really like this song, but more so I would love it for a friend of mine who will be at MSG.
    Anything you lose from being honest
    You never really had to begin with.


    Sometimes it's not the song that makes you emotional it's the people and things that come to your mind when you hear it.

    Yes please; I've never heard at and its one of my all-time favorite songs. Not being greedy, but it might go well in the first encores with Off he goes, come back and parting ways!

    This is how many times I've missed this song by a hair...

    Ed solo in 2008, I had tickets and couldn't go he played it both nights!

    Wrigley the rain caused them to cut it, I was sick to my stomach at the hotel after when I learned of it.

    Brooklyn 2013, they played it 2 shows earlier in Boston..

    Philadelphia Night 2 2013, they played it night 1...I wasn't there!

    I hope you guys and gals can help me keep this thread alive, and hopefully this happens. It doesn't have to be dedicated to me. I don't want that.

    I just want to hear those opening notes...

    I'll absolutely cosign this. I won't go into my own personal specifics, but this is one of those songs that means a lot to many of us and hearing this at a venue like MSG would truly be special and cathartic. Here's hoping you (and the many others I'm sure are pulling for this) are able to get this. I'll be there both nights with my fingers crossed.
