I actually think it works really well. I can't really see it as an opener but I guess if pendulum can indifference can too.

It would be the perfect closer. Release did close their first and arguably best album.

Release closed their first album. Not meant for closing concerts today though.

I like it, but would also prefer linights down.
I do think it would make a very intimate, emotional opener. That would be the place in the set list that it would be most powerful for me. Indifference would be an awesome opener or closer as well.

Not quite my Holy Grail to see live but top 3 for sure. I think it's a simply amazing song. I do agree that it is a song that should be played with the lights down....

Indifference closed their second album. I fail to see the drastic difference. Switching up the setlist is good.

It should be an opener with zero lights on stage.

Now, that would be a shock

I actually think about this a lot. Really not sure how I feel about it as a closer...but I love the song

Honestly I don't see why Present Tense isn't used to close. It's at the very least a perfect song to close a playlist you'd make for someone. Solid emotional opening half, excellent jam for the 3rd quarter and a bright cool down the final quarter of it

And also the core of the song which is to savour the present viz. that you just saw/heard a Pearl Jam Concert

Present Tense closed a No Code/Yield-era compilation I made recently. It is indeed a good closer - and a pretty cool opener, mind you.

I got indifference as a closer last Buenos Aires show, it was awesome, it was grew for a change, didn't care about the lights, which were on since Baba, looking back, lights out would be a better choice, but it doesn't matter really...

    Release as a closer?

There's a 92 boot which ends with release, awesome they closed with that...
... I am not in the business of being liked anymore ...

I agree, I don't like this song as a closer. I like the song a lot, but I find it a sad and somewhat depressing one, and that is not the emotion I want to end a PJ show with. And i agree that it doesn't work at all with the house lights up. The closer should be a song that feels celebratory IMO, and indifference definitely doesn't feel like that to me.

I think that would be a terrible closer. Possibly the worst closer imaginable, lol. WAY too sad and too close emotionally for too many people for the end of a show IMO. And Release is my favorite PJ song. A PJ show needs to end with joy, not the kind of tears that Release inspires, as beautiful as those tears are.

I can't see 'Indifference' in any other place on the setlist except at the end!

If its not Yellow Ledbetter or Indifference as a closer, I kind of feel like I'm expecting another song
