I voted for Cornell because he's more active at it. He spends more time doing those acoustic tours than he does playing with Soundgarden. I think I've seen him play 3 shows in the last 5 or 6 years from these acoustic tours. Saw him play an electric solo show before that.

Eddie does short bursts of solo tours, but they're much more infrequent. Eddie's is awesome live, but the shows are few and far between. I think they're Chris' bread and butter, so I think his solo career is more active and better.

Eddie's 50/50 on solo albums for me. I love Into the Wild, but Ukelele Songs is something I don't listen to (very often). Chris has released some rough albums but I really do dig Euphoria Morning, Songbook and Higher Truth.

I picked Chris because he has a much more full solo career. I wouldn't say that Eddie has a solo career at all. They're just side projects in my mind. But for Chris, it's now his main gig.

Agree with this. We've only had one 5 show Eddie Vedder tour in Europe.

That said ITW is my fav album between both of them and I'd choose an EV show over CC if I had to make a choice

I voted for Cornell only because I believe that at this point in their careers, Chris is better solo than with Soundgarden. I still think there's a lot of gas in the creative tank for Pearl Jam and I'm glad Ed doesn't spend more time on his solo work than he already does. Ed's solo stuff is brilliant, but I appreciate him more as a member of Pearl Jam.

That's a really good point. I totally agree. Chris blew me away at his solo show, but not for Soundgarden (anymore). Eddie kicks ass with PJ. Love his solo work, but it's definitely not where he does his best.

Voted for Chris, as noted he is more active at the solo stuff. Although the scream album was terrible. I like Ed solo, but I'm glad he is still actively playing with Pearl jam.

There's nothing wrong with Scream. For what it is, its a nice pop album with Cornells magnificent voice.

Not a track on that album that is worse than The Fixer.

I think this has to be one of the top 5 worst albums I've ever heard. I love Cornells band stuff but solo has never done it for me. Maybe I'll give the first album another listen.

Cornell solo career is better hands down!

Pearl Jam is my favorite band, but their music is a true collaboration. Songs contributed by each member. When Ed plays solo, he only plays "his songs" and covers. Where as Chris as the primary songwriter of Temple of The Dog, Soundgarden, Audio Slave, his Solo stuff, plays songs from all of those albums and covers. There is so much material to make an amazing show!

Ed doesn't usually play Stone, Jeff, and Mike Stuff where as Chris plays and wrote much from the bands he was in anyway.

As far as recordings, there just is more material that Chris has put out over a longer period of time. I enjoy them both (not a fan of the Scream album) but much of both of them I enjoy a great deal.

I haven't seen Eddie solo yet. But I did see Chris solo, and it blew me away. He was SO good. Though from all the video I've seen, I think Eddie's shows might be more fun. Eddie is more personable on stage than Chris is. That said, as someone else mentioned, it's a career for Chris, and hobby for Eddie.

I saw Chris mock that idea (which is often screamed out at him during shows) in a recent interview, lol. I don't think it's ever going to happen, haha.

What I mean is that are many songs that Ed would have the musical ability to play guitar on and sing to (Release, Nothingman, Ledbetter, too many to list...) Those are very easy to play and sing from a musicians stand point, but because he did not write the music to those he would not play those in his solo shows. There is just less material to choose from. I'm not saying it should be a PJ show with Ed sitting on a stool. He just sticks to the PJ material that he wrote the music to which is a much smaller proportional amount of material.

I voted for Chris, even though Ed is my favourite singer in my favourite band. The main reason being that Chris' is a 'true' solo career, whereas Ed's is more of a side project. Ed has remained part of an active rock band whilst releasing his solo or collaboration stuff; Soundgarden and Audioslave both broke up, leaving Chris genuinely solo for long periods of time.
I've seen Ed 4 times and Chris once and I was equally blown away by both of them. Cornell's voice is still amazing, especially in an acoustic setting
