From my understanding this is the same version as the US Sony version that is currently available in the USA. Someone emailed them a while ago when this first dropped for RSD, and MOV responded that they used the materials that Sony US sent them. I highly doubt there will be a difference.

Same tiny image like the reissue year's back? D'oh! Can't they do it right and reissue the album using the same big ass image? That covers the whole front cover? This is totally weak!

Reissue of reissue? Everything is limited edition these days. The other day, I saw limited edition bread

Will it have a colour vinyl edition? Usually MoV releases the first 1000 or so as a colour release to try and drive up sales for their releases.

Technically everything is limited. You have to put in your vinyl order 6 months in advanced and it's not cost effective to keep pressing them as needed. If you order 5000 than that's that. Whether or not you press the number on the album it's limited. Maybe MoV simply ran out of their first pressing, and decided to do another pressing?

I remember reading that someone wrote the original made vinyls sound best, reissues sound not as good...
Has anyone heard if this is true?

I have both and prefer the original.
But that goes for pretty much all my albums.

Yeah, unless it's Neil Young and certain Bob Dylan reissues, the originals are almost always better (in some cases, WAY better, but that's not the case with Above... the reissue sounds pretty damn good).

Do you mean generally? ... It all depends on how the reissues are made. If they are made with love, using the original master recordings, then the reissue is probably going to sound at least as good as the original. But most reissues are not made with that kind of care (and if they are, it's usually pretty clearly declared). I'm not sure how long this will be true though. In 20 years, when we start seeing reissues of what is being made right now, chances are the reissues will be just as bad as many of the originals currently being made, lol.

PS - it's not vinyls. It's vinyl or records. ;)

It's the same version from 2013. Just repressed. This Music On Vinyl release is not numbered on the back like the Record Store Day release version.
