Poor dads. Rich dads. Hours worked. Doesn't matter.

A good parent does goofy stuff to make their kids happy. Plain and simple. Theyre involved. A lot of fathers are not. My dad stood in the pouring rain at 5am with me to get PJ tickets in the mid 90s. He's not a PJ fan just like Ed and Matt arent 1 direction fans.

Truth. My Dad drove me to Shannon Hoon's vigil in 1995 because he 'didn't want me going alone.' Looking back 20 years that is just ridiculous that he did that for me, but then I'd do the same for my kiddo.

These are terrific stories, thank you guys for sharing. "A good parent does goofy stuff to make their kids happy" is so accurate. Props to Ed & Matt!

    That's great, man.
My dad drove me and my sister to New Orleans for our first PJ Show in 1995.
He was so weirded out by the tailgaters that he decided to go in.
He decided to sit up in the stands while my sister and I were up front in the pit.
I always joke that there aren't many 70 year olds who saw both PJ and the Ramones.

He liked PJ but didn't care for the Ramones....
he actually left after "Blood".... he didn't know they played encores.

of course he is 70 now, not back then... but I still think he could hang today!!

ps- he always refers to Ed as "Kurt Kobain".... somehow he got them mixed up back in the day and never figured it out.

Ohhhh I thought he was 70 back then lol. Still very cool. My dad would have just put the kibosh on the whole thing if he wasn't comfortsble, so very cool.

I made my dad take me to see Mr Big because I wanted to hear To Be With You and I wasn't old enough to go without and adult chaperone. Dad fell asleep and started snoring!

Sorry, didn't intend at all to be dinkish, whatever that means...my meh was to say who gives a shit. They can take the kids to whatever they want.
