Pre-ordered on Amazon. Didn't arrive yesterday and was pissed. Was really looking forward to listening to Seasons after this week.
Checked the tracking, it said "delayed due to weather."
But when I entered the tracking number directly into USPS site, it indicated that they have yet to even receive the package (which was coming from a facility 1 state over in Arizona, I dont think they had bad weather?). I was more pissed.
Emailed Amazon, got a partial refund as a result, and this time the tracking has an expected date, although it is now 5/23.
Guess I can be happy about a partial refund by waiting a few extra days.

Has anyone heard if the movie itself is going to be re-released?  I had a copy of it on VHS that has disappeared (not that it would do me much good without a VCR player).

From Amazon Canada. "You saved $3.89 with Amazon.ca's Pre-order Price Guarantee! The price of the item(s) decreased after you ordered them, and we gave you the lowest price." Neat!

Most importantly, how does the Newbury or even the standard reissue sound?
And so you see, I have come to doubt
All that I once held as true
    I stand alone without beliefs
The only truth I know is you.

I listened to the NC version yesterday, I thought it sounded pretty good. Very quiet. The lp was flat, no warping at all. A little "thin sounding" maybe, but nothing a little EQ adjustment couldn't fix. Just my opinion.

I'm not finding the vinyl Singles on Newbury Comics site and it seems to be sold out everywhere else.  :frowning:

You won't be able to find online cause it's sold out. https://www.newburycomics.com/collections/exclusive-vinyl/products/various_artists-soundtrack-singles_exclusive_2_lp?variant=36935740556 . If it's sold out it won't pop up on the website's search engine.

I had a hard time tracking down a copy today as almost every store is sold out in Seattle. All three Silver Platters were all out, Easy Street has only two left (they are not holding any) but I got the last copy at Everyday Music on Capitol Hill one hour after they opened today. Is this a limited release because I don't remember the other LP releases (Mad Season, Temple of the Dog etc) being this hard to find.
Did you try Sonic Boom? I've only tried Easy Street, which by the sound of it I don't need to try anywhere else right now being that everyone's sold out.

I screwed up and waited until today to pick it up.  No dice. Andy at Easy Street said they ordered 200 copies and only received 20 which were gone by 2pm yesterday. Supposedly they're getting another shipment in hopefully this week.

No, I didn't try Sonic Boom as I don't get to Ballard often. But yeah, they are all gone wherever you go. I was confident there were going to be plenty on release day but not the case. Silver Platters hopes to get in more next week but we'll see. As for now, there are plenty online at various outlets (including Ten Club) but just nice to not to have to pay over $10 for shipping.

The movie was re-released on blu-ray a couple of years ago. Before that, it had been out on DVD for a number of years.

I'm glad they did, because it has their best song. It would have been much later, if at all, for it to be released.

I was kinda "meh" with the sound. Guess that's what to expect from a digital recording.

awesome song for sure. I just didn't understand how a chicago band ended up on an all seattle line up.

That's a real good question that never crossed my mind. I guess I assumed that every artist on that soundtrack had ties to Seattle.

I never thought of it either, but I dont think they all did? Lovemongers were Canadian, PW was from Minnesota (I didnt know that, but a quick band info on the soundtrack link brought me to a bio page). Definitely a majority from the Seattle area, but the Pumpkins arent the only ones not on the list.

Lovemongers was Ann & Nancy Wilson. That was a Seattle band.

Smashing Pumpkins ended up on there because Chris Cornell suggested it to Cameron Crowe.  There is a blurb in the liner notes for each of the songs and Crowe explains as much for Drown.
