Why did the year 1994 of Pearl Jam kick so much ass?

The anger, the emotion, the energy....

all of these are good. In '94 I was 20 and felt the same as the band.

Maybe this is why I liked the Lightning Bolt tour so much too. 20 years later, the energy is still there...the emotions are still there, but the anger has turned to joy. You really don't need the anger as much once you hit 40.

Taking the torch from Nirvana after Kurt's death??

Ok I don't mean this to be funny or disrespectful but another reason I like Nirvana and Cobain so much is because I believe he gave Pearl Jam an edge. Kurt's early criticism of PJ could have lit a punk fire under Ed's ass.

The reaction of being hyped up beyond a joke & band that was in a very creative space plus being a kickarse live band.

94 might be my favorite year for live shows. I think we would all like to see a dvd release or set of bootlegs from the Vs. tour, particularly the 94 leg.

There are some neat bootleg shows on YouTube if you're desperate.
