What does he have against black wallets?

Look to the cookie, Edward! :yin_yang:

I kept a "lucky" piece of jade in my wallet since my late teens. Realized a few years ago it got lost along the way. Has not made one bit of difference.

But...whatever gets you through the night.

I've kept a 50 cent piece in my wallet for years. Brought me some luck, but not the powerball win I am looking for! Haha

some might call that a 50cent coin but us canadians know better

I can see the queen is on the back, and it looks like the image of the queen that was on our currency in the 80s and early 90s (before they updated to an older version of the queen). I thought it might of been a British coin but they must use their own image of the queen.

I've got an old Canadian Silver dollar but have never seen a 50 cent piece. I think most of them were meant for collecting opposted to general circulation....

still cool that Ed keeps a Canadian coin in his wallet at all times :)

Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder never goes anywhere without an Australian 50 cent piece in his pocket. In the documentary ‘Cosmic Psychos: Blokes You Can Trust’, Vedder explains the party trick he learned from Ross Knight of the Cosmic Psychos where basically you push the coin into your bum crack, have to straddle across the room and drop the coin into a beer glass. Warning: Vedder shows how it is done in the movie.

That's most likely a "friends and family" wallet. If you want one you'll have to go to your local leather carfstman/taylor...

I'm actually a little disappointed that Eddie doesn't keep a .73 mm guitar pick in his EV wallet just like I keep in mine. :)

Ha! Back in the 70s, my dad used to rock a pair of white patent-leather loafers from them.

close but no cigar. its a canadian loonie. gold/bronze in color and the exact same outside pattern as in the ed photo. is the australian coin silver cause if it is that would rule it out also

Pretty sure that's not a loonie. And I've seen a few in my life.

  • ZodZod Posts: 9,941
It's not a loonie... the sides on a loonie are much smaller, and the size of the coin is also smaller. It seems to be Australian. I almost forgot there's more countries in the the Commonwealth than the UK and Canada.. lol. Must be all sort of countries that have the queen on their currency.

The fuck came up with "loonie", anyway?

    Either genius or...loony?

(now I'm craving Bugs Bunny, dammit)

It's definitely an Aussie 50c. Just the size is enough to know. Also, the fact that it's 12-sided.

The loonie is much smoother on the outside, smaller and a different colour.

IMO, the coin in the picture is silver. Is this another blue/black white/gold debate?!?

lol I'll knock them.... I miss 1 and 2 dollar bills. It's a breath of fresh air every time I go to the states and they still use dollar bills... I hate change :) allthough the US is funny. The only thing odder that getting a $1 american coin, or a $2 american bill is the look you get when you try to spend it.
