Happy 20th Anniversary to the most famous of all the Australia 1995 shows. And maybe one of the most famous overall in Pearl Jam history. Not to mention one of the most widely pressed onto CD that there is. March 17th 1995, Melbourne Australia. A fantastic show start to finish! Contains my all time favorite version of Black.

03/17/95 - Flinders Park Tennis Centre: Melbourne, Australia [128m]
attendance: 10,000
support act: The Meanies
set: Release, Last Exit, Spin the Black Circle, Tremor Christ, Corduroy, Not for You/Lukin, Animal, Glorified G, Daughter/(Stuff and Nonsense), State of Love and Trust, Why Go, Jeremy, Whipping, Immortality/Rearviewmirror, Alive, Black, Blood, Porch
enc: Go, Even Flow, Better Man, Improv (Words Seem Out of Place), Indifference, Rockin' in the Free World
notes: This show was broadcast on the Australian radio station, JJJ. Eddie remarks: "It's not just us tonight, we're on the radio. I just thought I'd warn you, you know, if you, if you're s'posed to be at your friend's house spending the night, you weren't allowed to come, don't get your voice on the radio, we don't want you to get in trouble. Ah fuck it, get in trouble!" Later he says, "Fine bunch of mutants we got here We're all mutants up here, too." 'Jeremy' and 'Even Flow' are both sporting a new intros. Ed notes the full moon: "It's really too bad they couldn't open the roof in this place cause there's a fuckin full moon out there that we're missing ... so if someone's out there listening to us in their car, stick your head out the window.. at home, go to the windows. Things happen in a full moon, good things, bad things, things happen." Ed gives his list of N.W. words/phrases. Reference is made to the poor security the previous night ("... we got the guys from last night the fuck outta here"). Ed acknowledges his wife, Beth: "She's back home, so it's not as if she's going to hear this on the radio, but it's me and Beth's 129 month anniversary today. And I'm going to sing the first line of this famous New Zealand song. This is for her. 'I've got you, and that's all I want.' [sings a couple bars of the Split Enz, 'I Got You']. That's for her. This one's for you." (leading to 'Better Man'). Dave Grohl joins PJ for 'RitFW.'

Here's some of the CDs that have surfaced since the shows broadcast back in 1995. Some of these have edited Eddie's talking about how long he's been married to Beth and the 1,2,3,4 count into Porch.

Down Under (KTS Version)

Down Under (Ying Yang Records Version) Thanks for the photo Michael!

Girl Find A Better Man (1 CD only and contains only select tracks from the show)

* Live On The Wireless (Not Pictured. The last track contains an interview with Stone from JJJ Radio. A nice set, but a little bit less sounding quality than Rarified And Live or Aussie Dynamos. Also contains Eddie talking about how long he's been married to Beth).

Classic show with maybe the best ever version of RITFW with Dave Grohl on drums? You can hear by the reaction the crowd that PJ fever was at an all time high. Yes probably one of the best boots ever.I remember listening 20 years ago & think I will listen to it now. Thanks Derik☺

This is the concert that started my obbession with PJ. When it aired on JJJ my sister recoreded it to tape and for the next 6 months i listened to that tape every single day.
I was truly blown away, my first true sonic awakening.

Listening to Aussie Dynamos right now. Guess I never realized that some of the dialogue was cut. Oh well, still a great show.

Yeah it all depends on what version you're listening to. Even the official Rarefied And Live set is missing the first part of Eddie talking about the full moon as well as the 1, 2, 3, 4 count into Porch. But it is the best and most clean sounding recording.

Brilliant showI I bought the KTS version (with Vedder on the cover in a hockey shirt) somewhere in 1995/1996. Excellent sound, great set list and some beatiful tags like in Black. In recent years some footage of the show came up at Youtube.

Being European, in 2014 I was able to visit the "Flinders Park" venue in Melbourne.

The complete AMT video (with the native audio replaced by the SBD audio) has been around for about ten years (or more?), what you see on YT is taken directly from that two DVD set..

Epic show.  As were the others. Those were the days we were all teenagers or 20 somethings. Mosh pit was insane. People on top of people on top of people.

I remember a guy got on stage past security stole water bottle as they lunged for him he jumped back over them to the pit.  Epic stage dive.

$2 zebra poster.  No merch hype.  No entitled fucks. Just bring back the 90s

I remember Triple J had a competition where you could win a copy of the Boot by ringing up and singing a Pearl Jam song!

It’s a damn shame that we only got an audience boot of the Auckland shows, when there is footage in PJ20 and on a Crowded House single (and apparently on that Pacific Rim tour movie that never got released).
