Speed Wash, 1992 - PJ experimenting with PJ songs is awesome

Dimitrispearljam posted this to FB. Just thought I'd post here because it's cool and I'd never heard this version of Wash before. I love when PJ really plays with their own songs like this! They should experiment like this more often - they are so good at it, but do it so, so rarely. Slow Lukin, guitar Bugs, the recent variation on LBC, speed Wash, No Jeremy.... what others have they done? :)

    I LOVE that version of wash! Such a badass song anyway and that way it's just even more grrrr! ;;) Anyway...

    I like corduroy for london & wrigley '14. Wish there kept it up more of the tour.

    Also, don't think it was intentionally different, but Black from Leeds had Ed singing the 'I know someday..' later into the solo, was a nice change & fit well with Mikes solo.

    That's what I love about it....it is almost a completely different song, like how Lukin is a raging 60 second punk rock flourish.....but Slow Lukin was a slow burn, unrecognizable until you realized the words. I think both were very cool experiments.

    Yeah, it's not that all of these alternate versions are superior (although I do think Slow Lukin is better than the original!). I just really like variety a lot. The more the better. :)

    I love the slow acoustic intro they typically do for Porch ... been doing it for a while but I remember how cool it was the first time I heard it live.

    I´d love to hear an extended solo on I Am Mine. Actually the song ends with a solo but it only goes on for about 8 bars...

    Can anybody post the slow Lukin´ everybody´s talking about?
