Ludes! Now that's a blast from my past.

I still remember Rorer 714 being the sign of authenticity.

Born at the wrong time to be an official hippie but my nickname was moonbeam and I do believe in peace and love and caring for mother earth and each other. Much rather be classed as a hippie than a hipster!

No, but I feel like a bit of a weirdo.

Once in 1970, while on the job at a major maintenance base cleaning commercial jet exteriors, a mechanics yelled out, "Hey look, we've got a hippie here!" Another mechanic I had gotten to know yelled back, "He's not a hippie. He's working here. Hippies don't work." People have always assumed I'm a hippie.

But at 63, I'm even less a hippie. A lady friend of mine recently asked me who all these weird music groups are I listen. She said, "I've never even heard of any of these people".

Time to to go work. This thread should be worth checking out again later.

Been called a hippie still in 2014, but just always felt like a rock fan, with working class routes felt more in common with punk rock in the uk and early traditional folk music. Peace!!

At 46 ,I grew up much more like Jeff Spicoli with checkerboard vans(still rock em) Polka dotted Quicksilvers,Sex Wax and Concert shirts and a cool buzz.Lots of Van Halen and Zeppelin ,concerts and Bong hits.I think that would be considered" slacker burn out".Highly functioning might I add.But when you grow up in A beach town all the groups kinda mingle together(Rednecks, preps,Rockers,Punks, etc) By the water.
I like to be clean and smell good so I don't know if I could ever even come close to hippie status.
