Wish there was a PJ Christmas album

Can you imagine listening to some kick ass versions of
Merry Christmas Baby
Baby Please Come Home
Santa Claus is Coming To Town
War is Over
Etc.
love the Bruce Springsteen, U2 versions... PJ versions with sax replaced with Mike's guitar. That would be awesome.
My 3 and 4 yo would be singing along. Think about it.
Or maybe Ed Uke Christmas??? :)>-

Interesting story on NPR this morning about Christmas albums. There is so much Christmas music that exists, but yet new recordings are made every year.

The band already has enough Christmas oriented Songs from the annual fan Club singles to fill an album.
And he still gives his love,
    he just gives it away...

No thanks to some hokey novelty album, just regular rock albums every few years please. Thank you.

I'd have to agree, though throwing a one-off cover at a December show might be cool!

Yep. A Christmas album seems like a very unnatural thing for this band to do. Don't see it happening and definitely don't want it.

My favourite one is the Twisted Sister xmas album that came out around 5 years ago. I'm like many other people. I know "We're not going to take it" but not any other songs. I was listening to the radio and someone mentioned how good it was. I grabbed a copy and it rocks. It's basically a hard rock Christmas album done really well. It's now a staple that get's played around the house every Christmas... btw make sure you get past the first two minutes where they pretend to be acoustic before rocking it out :)

No, no, no. Please, no! Christmas songs are just too cheesy and the last thing PJ should do. The occasional song on a Holiday Single is fine, but I usually skip them too after one or two plays
    “Do not postpone happiness”
    (Jeff Tweedy, Sydney 2007)

“Put yer good money on the sunrise”
    (Tim Rogers)

Agree that the odd fan single is fun, but an actual specific Christmas album is not for me.
Mind you I'd have said the same for Mark Lanegan.

Bad Religion made a Christmas album last year and it was pretty cool. Also, 20% of the proceeds went to the organization called SNAP (Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests).

    Bad Religion rules.

Personally, I'd be far more interested them teaming up with Tinariwen to make a Kwanzaa record but I don't see that happening either. How about a good solid floor shaking rock and roll record?

Tough crowd. Just sick of all the Mariah Carey type and country Christmas crap. But yeah...does seem like would never work for PJ to do one. Still thanks for all the holiday singles.

    Screw an X-Mas-themed album!

Sure would love to hear Ed croon "Santa Baby" though.

I see it a la Monroe's Happy Birthday to JFK.

Release it as a limited vinyl and you will see A LOT of people on here change their mind real quick.

No doubt... But lots would be flipped by the sounds of it. Hell, they (not PJ) released lullaby album of PJ music. Now that's the lame one.
