I'm not sure what you mean by it's not right, but I do question whether or not crowdfunding will really work. They've only raise 75k and I imagine the cost of putting on a pearl jam show must be way higher. What were tickets on the last tour? $75 each. 16000 min. seating in most hockey/basketball arenas (usually more). 75x16000=$1.2 million intake on your average night.
I think the foo fighters took on the crowdfunding show for the press (as Grohl does think of innovative ways to promote the foo fighters) but there's no way the Foo's would play for that kind of money on a small basis.
I dunno.. I feel the Foo Fighters gave people false hope to crowdfund shows. Here in Victoria some people tried to crowdfund to get RHCP and raised about 50k.. lol.. I think people organizing these things don't realize how much an arena band pulls in on an average night.

Not to mention, that when YOU contract a show, versus an actual booking company doing it, you have to pay for everything. I tried to tell that that guy that he'd have to raise WAYYYYY more than 500,000. That it'd be more like 2 mil, if the band was cool and played for the 500k. And honestly 2 mil is a lowball number.
But I think this is the dumbest trend in Internet history
This is the dumbest trend in Internet history for sure. What next? Please fund my cats surgery? I just came across this article and it upset me for some reason. Reading it made me feel that people are telling this band what to do. It's not right.
I really hate this whole idea. I give my credit card number to some fan I ve never met that wants pj to play queens. If they play I get a ticket somewhere in the building. Sounds real shady to me. Why would pj do this? It s not like they need help selling tickets in the NYC area.
OP, you must have missed all the fuss about this in earlier threads, they were all locked. Yours probably will be too. Check for the old threads, you'll see many that share your opinion if it helps make you feel better.

Also remember about 25% of the money raised so far has to procure about $16000 worth of "mystery goods" promised.
