They hinted at it during their show Friday night at the Cubby Bear. While it's early for the show announcement, guessing it has to do with promotion of their new album and that the rest of the tour would be announced soon.
Here's a pic from Chris Shifflet from last week.

Well, good for FF and their fans.
I think they're absolutely terrible myself, and don't understand how they're so big, but they have a shockingly large fan base.

They're actually playing a freaking CLUB SHOW this Friday in DC, and I completely missed out because they announced and sold tickets on the same day in person only. Insane! This would have been so sweet!

Well if it's August, there's still hope. Cause I've been to Wrigley concerts each of the last 2 summers (PJ and Billy Joel) and both were in the July 18-19 weekend. So there's still plenty of open dates.

this is gunna be a big year for the foos and im glad. I know alot of people are sick of seeing dave all over rock news but seriously hes the only reason rock makes it to the headlines and the hbo series sonic highways is really really good. cant wait to see them at wrigley

You said it perfectly. I'm not the biggest Foo fan, but their live shows are a ton of fun. Can't really knock them either, there are only a couple of true Rock n Roll bands left and the Foo Fighters are one of them.

Let me know if Dave grohl screams unnecessarily or does something clichéd for a rock star...

Foo Fighters are awesome. Saw them a few years ago at the Bamboozle festival and they killed it.

Saw the Foo at Global Fest a few years ago. Eh. Got to scratch them off the list and not pay for it. No desire to see them again. The way many people feel about Bono is the way I feel about Dave.

Just like lukewarm PJ fans I know that go to a show and acknowledge PJ puts on a great show...I say the same about the Foos, who I like but not in the "top 10". I went in 2011 (just a few weeks after PJ20 rocked my world) and I was really impressed. Dave's a great performer and they played 2:40 of high-energy show and sounded great.

Hoping PJ still plays there this summer because I need a reason to go back to Chicago. Although, I've always wanted to go to Boston too so Fenway would work as well (both maybe? :D)

As for the Foo Fighters, I really tried to like them but I couldn't. I even watched their documentary trying to get into them, but that only succeeded in turning me into a huge QOTSA fan (from the 20 second clip they played of No One Knows). I hate Dave Grohl's singing voice and that's kind of a dealbreaker for me.
