Hey so we are making the trek to Mountain View for BSB, and we have never been to the area. Looking for some advice on transportation, and hotels. We are wondering if its best to fly into San Fran, or San Jose? (We want to do some walking around San Fran on Friday afternoon/evening,)Also, what are transportation (taxi/public transit) fares like??We will have some luggage with us as we are travelling from Atlantic Canada, to Denver, then to California.
Any tips would be nice
Thanks!!!!

But goes nowhere near Shoreline Amphitheatre! The CalTrain station isn't all that close to the venue either. Public transport to the venue really isn't an option, so renting a car is probably the best option. Uber? lol

I am thinking we are going to cab. We really don't want to rent a car.
    What the heck is Uber?

Haha, it's hard not be enthusiastic about Atlantic Canada! I did my first year of law school in Fredericton and my family's originally from Moncton. I've been hoping for a tour out there for the past few years, so that I have an excuse to come back. Glad you're able to make the trip, I'm sure Bridge School will be epic!

We are actually living in Moncton! Small world...
We are from PEI, we miss it big time...
Cant wait for Denver and Bridge School! Will you be making a trip this year? If you know the bay area we're looking for pointers on where to stay and transportation :)

haha, yeah, small world. At least you're close enough that you can head back often I'd guess (longshot: any chance you know Ryan Anstey from PEI?).

...So far the plan is to make it to Bridge (but I may get called back to work in Vancouver). We're starting in Memphis and then hitting all shows to SF. I have some family in SF, but in the city, so this would be our first time venturing further south. In the past, we've just either been picked up, or taken the BART from the airport. That'll definitely get you into the city for walking around. Maybe for you it'd make sense to stay the Friday in the city, do all your walking around, see the sites, fisherman's wharf, etc...and then head down south for Sat/Sun nights. As for getting down south, that Caltrain seems to get you close enough to take a cab to a close by hotel or venue. I guess it would best to cost all that up and see if it's not better to rent a car. The one thing I would warn about is traffic! I read an article about the recent Paul McCartney show at Candlestick (which isn't comparatively that far from the city) and apparently because of construction and traffic, it took people hours to get there! Apparently the show started late, and people were basically gridlocked listening to the show from their cars.

omg yes i do know Ryan! We were friends in junior high, actually, he was my "boyfriend" for like a week back then. i know he moved out west with his girlfriend, haven't seen him in ages just get life updates through good ol FB! What a small world, indeed!
My husband's uncle is working the festival in Texas, backstage.... lucky man. he invited us to go, a week after we bought our Denver tickets. If we didn't have a 3 year old, we would prob. just hit up all the PJ shows.
So will you be in Denver then? We will be at the wishlist fundraiser pre party! We will have to buy you a drink for all your advice on Bridge School :)

    Haha, that's hilarious! Unbelievable!
My wife and I were hoping to go to Texas, but Paul McCartney is also playing in New Orleans just before the Memphis show, and since we've never been to that part of the states (and are unlikely to do so in the future), we decided on Paul as New Orleans seems like a pretty interesting city, and it'll mean that we pretty much end up travelling the entire length of the Mississippi River over the course of this tour, which seems kind of neat.

I hope that info was helpful, and that all works out for your with getting around for Bridge.

As of right now, we're definitely planning on making it to Denver, so yeah, let's try and grab a drink at the pre party.
