All Those Yesterdays as a closer - Yay or Nay

Just a personal fav of mine that I have yet to see.

I for one think it would be amazing as a closer. room for long extended improve jams and open ended enough to tag a lot (ala YL and little wing) as the bonus treat.

Your thoughts?

(PS... try it out in Detroit boys lol)

I'd love this as a closer. I have even put this as a closer in the create your own set lists threads that pop up from time to time on here.

Nay. Not a big crowd sing a long like other closers. Plus they never really nail this one live

A big YAY. I'd like to be surprised by a closer for once. Yellow Ledbetter, RITFW, Indifference, Baba closed every single 2014 show except for one (Alive closed that one show) and it's been that way for sooooooo long. Throw us a curveball. Your choice is great. How about Rats. Just SOMETHING other than Ledbetter. It's so predictable.

Lets face it- most people at a PJ show would be left unsatisfied if this closed the show. If you want ATY to be the last song just listen to Yield :D

Great to finish a show with, but through personal experience indifference is the best I've seen live.
  • ATY is near the top of the list for me in songs I've never seen live, so if I get it anywhere in St. Louis, Moline or Milwaukee I'll be happy.

Answering your question though I think it would be a cool closer to try a few times, if they got the main song down really tight. As others said, it has seemed a little sloppy at times when they've played it. Then like you mentioned the end of the song could easily go off into something else energetic and upbeat as a tag to close the show, for some reason that song always puts me in a really good mood.

Immortality has closed exactly one concert - February 28, 1995. Not quite occasional.

No matter what song they close with, if there is no Yellow Ledbetter or Indifference after it, it doesn't feel right... always room for one more.

Great idea. They have only played this song like 16 times though so it's just a dream, cool one though!

They should just play it more often. Was fortunate enough to hear it in BK.

I'm game for just about anything new as a closer. I think they should mix the closer up a lot more than they do.

What if they did some crazy ass aggressive song like Leash and then the show ended?

Yeah that would leave me hanging. It would be nice if they brought back the heavier version of I've got a feeling/extended jam once in awhile. I wasn't stoked about the vfc one, but they used to rock the shit out of that one many years ago.

I'd love it as an opener, ala Single Video Theory.
Heard it in '10 for the first time live. It was awesome.

I like this idea, but I also like that I'm never surprised when the show ends. Like if they played Leash I'd be assuming there's atleast one more song, if the show just ended after that I'd be bummed.

It would work if they played YL, RITFW, Baba, and then dropped in Leash. That I could handle :)

Id be down with all those yesterdays as a closer. I listened to around the bend first time in a little while today, that would be an interesting and good way to end a live show
