Arrived in Vienna at 11:30pm, there weren't more than 15 people here.

We're in the mid 70s according to the list. Next 'check in's are midnight and 6am apparently. A lot of the missing people are apparently at the pre-party with their places being held.

If we leave we'll be crossing our names off the list, because that's the right and fair thing to do. Otherwise we're here for the duration.

Right, we've left and crossed our names off the list.

Just before midnight around 40ish people turned up. As far as I could see no-one got crossed off the list. Then they all left again.

If that was the rules 10c sent out in the confirmation email, absolutely fair play. Everyone knows about it and is on an even playing field. They didn't. They stated first come first served and only leave for bathroom breaks.

I spoke up when I arrived (which for me was really quite difficult!!), no-one appeared to back me up in front of the group (apologies if anyone did and I didn't notice). I said my piece when I crossed my name off because I thought it was unfair. Again, no support.

I felt like I was being bullied into a situation because "we've done this all tour". That doesn't make it fair or right.

That's me all said and done on this thread. I'm back in the hotel, going to try and make the most of it knowing I've done the right thing. I refuse to be part of something that's not right.

We're not assertive people by any stretch of the imagination - but I spoke up (it was terrifying! . ) and I tried, actually stated what was in the 10c email. No-one backed me up.

What do you do when you're one voice in the crowd???

We could have left, went back at 6 and kept our place in line I was told when I went to cross our names off the list. BUT THAT'S NOT FAIR!!!! Well it's ok cos that's what's been happening the whole tour. THAT DOESN'T MAKE IT FAIR OR RIGHT!!! Well there are these 3 people you could cross off who didn't make it back at midnight. WTF?? If they weren't back, and you know they're not back, why the hell are they still on the list?????

There wasn't anything else we could do but remove our names and leave. Not that anyone there would have given a shit!

Oh, get this too. When we arrived and I asked where the 70 people were someone piped up with "if you were at the party tonight you would have known (about the system)". I wasn't there because I made the choice to sleep knowing I'd be in line all night.

One or the other, not both, then while you're at it go back to the hotel for 6 hours kip too.

Don't fret, every time i've been at ga in the states it just turns into a mob mad dash anyway, list goes right out the window. Go have fun, get there an hour or so before doors, and you'll probably end up 2nd row in front of stone (or 12th in front of mike).

This is one of the reasons I didn't go for GA. Usually at GA shows, there are a 'couple' of people who appear at the last minute and sneak in with their friends; but I've never witnessed this happening without A LOT of the people on line refusing to allow this to happen. I've waited on lines for more than a day for shows, book signings, tickets and i have NEVER heard of anything like this being allowed to continue. Especially, in the numbers that are being posted. Who started the list idea and are they anymore than just another fan? Why is everyone giving them so much power? And they could just make a list of whomever they want and those people wouldn't have to bother to show up till the end. It sounds, to me, like people who have been to many shows figuring out a way to be in front while people who are not as 'seasoned' getting screwed. Can't security be told about the list (I have seen security physically throw people out of line who have tried this)? Can't someone just take the list, dispose of it and, if necessary, bring their own sharpie and put numbers on people's hands in the actual order of those who are standing in line for the duration. There are always people who find ways to manipulate the system, while those who follow the rules are left pissed off because they have been wronged. This was going on in the posts for US 2013, I can't believe they can still get away with this. This isn't in the spirit of Pearl Jam (the band) and it is just allowing the same people to be up front show after show after show. No fan is better than another fan and this list shit sounds like people who really need to take themselves less seriously and not think that they have one up on the rest of the fans. I would be pissed and it would, unfortunately, color my feeling about the whole experience. So I opted to not even try and avoid all the bullshit. They should stop, knowing how much trouble they are causing; but maybe they don't give a shit. Nice way to look out for your neighbor - oh wait - their neighbor was on the list too. Nevermind.,

Yup. The List concept has relegated me to reserved seating also. These people sound like real assholes. I'd rather enjoy the show from afar than have to stand next to them. A few bad apples are gonna ruin it for everyone....

problem is these people convince security that "the list" is what Pearl Jam wants. Happened to me in Oklahoma. I was told by SECURITY to get out of line and go get a number

Okay..I have no idea what anybody is talking about in this thread. I've skimmed some threads about "the list" but have no idea what it really means. For starters, I've never been in a GA section of an arena that also has seats on the floor. Every concert I've ever attended in an arena (until last year's PJ shows) were either all seats on the floor or all GA on the floor (like a Rage Against The Machine show for instance). Now, at shows with seats on the floor, you go to your seat...obviously. Shows with GA on the floor, you stand where ever there's room to stand.

So would somebody please give me a "List For Dummies" rundown? What is this? I figure that people should line up and wait for the pit to open. Get as close as they can when it opens. And that's it. SO WHAT IS THIS? I'm have GA for Denver. And I'm not that interested in getting close enough for Eddie to sweat on me or Mike to throw me a handful of picks. But when I arrive, I want to be able to fucking walk into the pit entrance and be there. So anyone...a layman's explanation please?
