An Atlantic Canadian Pearl Jam Tour would be sweet!

Just imagine seeing Pearl Jam for the first time EVER playing in the provinces of New Brunswick & Prince Edward Island? To come back to Halifax for another round of Keiths. Or get another kiss from a fish up in Newfoundland.

    Make it happen! O:-)

Not sure why there is so much talk of a Canadian tour... still.??? As much as I would love one ~ don't see that happening.

My guess is that we will see something along the lines of 2008. They will pick a festival and play a short 10-12 date tour centred around the festival date. Might even be 'Roo again, just like in 2008.

I hope we will see the No Code + Yield reissue as well.

Only reason for possible talk of a Canada tour is that the last one was in 2011, about a similar time frame for shows there, thats all I can think of. Yes, lets see the No Code and Yield reissues, with videos of both Moline and Milwaukee shows.

The east coast contains their 3 largest markets - NYC, Philly and Boston (apologies to Chicago, Toronto and Seattle, but it's true). That's at least 6 easy sellouts. And Philly to Boston is only 300 miles with NYC in between. Hartford and DC are close too. Logistically speaking, it's easy and the fans happen to live there too.

    The population density? Haha.

Everyone outside the North East likes to take subtle jabs (not you) but the fact is if you divide the population within 100 miles of the venues in the north east by the number of shows/seats available, you'd have to play a ton of North East shows to arrive at the same ratio as 1 show for almost all other places in the US and Canada save for except southern Cal.

No vitriol or anything but I think some folks don't realize just how many people there are in the NE United States.

Yeah, i know it's PJ's big condensed market, and I have no probs with PJ playing there a lot (and yes I am jealous of people who live there. Not just because they get a lot of PJ shows. Because all bands play there, and so many big cities are so close to each other - there is so much to access and do in that region and I wish I lived there!! I feel so isolated from things where I am!). I'm not talking about the size of the market though. I'm talking about the impatience of the fans. PJ already plays the northeast more than any other region on the face of the planet, yet we keep seeing people who live there complaining every time PJ is touring anywhere else, haha. ;)

The east coast is well known for their sense of entitlement regarding PJ... and prettymuch anything else in the world.

But there's really only been two Canadian tours in over 20 years of touring (2005 & 2011). I wouldn't be surprised to see Toronto and Montreal get shows on the next North East US tour, but another Canadian tour seems unlikely to me.

What I think is funny is when bands sellout MSG like it is some amazing accomplish. Sure it is great, but you have a pool of 15 million people to draw from within 50 miles. The NE towns thinks they are special because they come out in numbers when you just have a lot of people. It makes sense to tour there a lot but you aren't any more "deserving" of a show than Lincoln when a larger percentage of Lincoln residents came out for Pearl Jam probably than NYers for MSG.

I agree with this. The 2015 Canadian posts seem to be more wishful thinking since there are South America rumours (and the Canadian and SA tours were in the same years) rather than substantiated sources.

Also agree with the 2008 type tour. Probably 12 dates around a festival or two (Bonaroo and Firefly in June, Lolla in Aug or maybe Fenway Park finally), with some spots they didn't hit for LB (Florida, maybe up to Toronto and Montreal along the east coast).

Pearl Jam has a pretty good track record of doing one or two 12 show legs each year. Also, it's been a long time since they went a whole calendar year without playing the States. Worse case for North American fans I think will be something like 2012 where they do one leg abroad and only a few US shows.

I'm sure all of my thoughts have already been said elsewhere on the forum, but here's what I hope for in 2015:

    1) Wrigley DVD and an official bootleg release (I wasn't at PJ20, sadly, so this is a preference for me);
2a) Either a summer tour of about 35-40 dates which somewhat mirrors the 2006 North American tour, with plenty of dates in the northeast, midwest and west coast, to satisfy all fans and to not make every single show a destination for the entire PJ fanbase; or
2b) A 12 show summer where they pick 4 cities and play 3 shows in each city; and
    3) A change to the way merch is sold, specifically giving Ten Club members that buy ticketsan option to pre-order posters, shirts, stickers, etc. and then pick it up the day of the show. It would be nice to enjoy the different cities I travel to to see PJ rather than just stand in line all day outside of the venue.

LOL. You'll never see a tour like that again.
