id rather they not go to those small places in Canada like London and Kitchener, but just play more shows in Toronto or montreal In bigger cities. besides the pj shows, those little cities like Kitchener is really boring to visit, when they play cool cities though you can do other things when the show is not on,
Didn't they do some Canadian dates last year?.....
Sure the response will be it wasn't a proper tour and only 2 dates but that is the same as England is getting this summer. Lets have a petition for the UK to have more dates. Or Spain or Portugal.
I don't get these petition things, I don't feel one country is more deserving than another. No one is getting 'shafted', Pearl Jam can't play everywhere.
Ya we received 2 shows but Canada is a huge country. For me to have gone to the Calgary or Vancouver show I would have to spend roughly 1800$ for a pair of tickets just to fly there with a 8 hr flight with numerous stop overs. If I wanted to drive you are looking at a 50hr drive one way. Its almost the same price/time for me to go to London then it is to go to western Canada.
Canadian here. I don't understand how someone could feel "shafted" or that one's loyalty is being questioned by limited PJ shows since 2011. They're artists, not in our service. They don't owe anybody anything.
That said, I would throw buckets of cash at a Canadian tour at any point so bring it on, kind sirs. It just doesn't seem likely there will be more shows in 2014. In London last July, Eddie said that they (meaning some or all of the band?) just finished a cross-country trip of Canada with friends and family as tourists. Probably unlikely they'll do a cross-country again so soon.
the fact is they sell out every show in Canada, and every crowd has been great and into it, a Canadian Tour would take one month and the could mix shows in Seattle (hopefully The Gorge), Chicago, and some shows in the Northeast at the end
one month would not prevent them from doing other things, and they could still do side projects or tour other places
It's Pearl Jam they generally have at least 10 months off a year. For them it's not about preventing them from doing other things, its sort of more like "how do we spend our 1 to 2 months/year touring" Canada has gotten two decent tours (05 and 11), maybe were doing again in 2016?
I drove up from Columbus, OH and went to Kitchner, London and Hamilton Ontario in 2005. It was pretty awesome. Had 4th row dead center at Kitchner (which was one fucking loud show).

Sure, sign me up! Was hoping for a '14 show closer to home this time around. Last year did the Pacific Northwest tour, excluding Calgary. Would be sweet to see an Atlantic Canadian tour or a Quebec / Ontario Lightning Bolt show.
They should have done a 20th anniversary mudfest show last summer in Gimli. I am not holding my breath for a proper canadian tour anytime soon. And by proper, i mean not just van, mtl and toronto.

Canada...you've done well for yourself.
Also, St. John's Newfoundland had more shows since 2005 than the cities I listed too.

The simple fact is they don't want to be on the road for a month at a time nowadays, they haven't since 2006. Doesn't matter what any of us think, it's their lives and their choices. If they are comfortable with touring for 3 weeks every now and again then so be it. We should think ourselves lucky instead of 'shafted' - look at The Beatles, they stopped touring altogether!!!!

Been to two shows in Canada (Toronto 2009 and Montreal 2011). Both were great nights with fantastic crowd energy.
Toronto has become a signature tour stop for this band. That it has now been skipped on two legs of the Lightning Bolt tour is very strange. The only reason I can think of is that another full Canadian tour is planned for next year. I think this is happening.

Your comments make sense to me. I also thought it was strange. I'm from the Toronto area, and for a long time only saw those shows, and always had a blast. More recently I've ventured out to other cities, but have never felt as strong a vibe from the other cities I've been to. Particularly in NJ, that crowd should be ashamed of themselves. Toronto shows have been exceptional. I'm going to try for Detroit on this one, hopefully Detriotians can restore my faith.

Come back to Vancouver for 2 shows! or come to Victoria.....lol
Victoria would be sweet. I never really expected them to play Victoria because there are only 300k people in the area, but then they've gone and played places like saskatoon or St. john's which are of comparable size.
A Victoria show would be sweet, but the arena is small. It'd be hard to get tickets.

They could do it at Juan De Fuca like Rock that Bores...lol or at Royal Athletic park.

If they wanna try something different & mind blowning, how about playing Massey Hall for 4 nights? And completely released this via a sweet vinyl / Blu-ray box set? O:-)
Though a night back @ the Halifax Metro Centre would be sweet. Or something close to Atlantic Canada, like Moncton, Charlottetown & St. John's. Just imagine if Pearl Jam played @ Magnetic Hill? Or the Halifax Commons?
I don't know if they'd ever get back to Newfoundland, but if they do, I'd be up there in a heartbeat. I have lots of family up there. And it's beautiful.

The last free show I saw there was Sloan, and we just literally walked up from the side and stood ~25 feet away from the stage right before the show started. It was a great concert.
