My girlfriend/mother of my children was raised by a single mother and is the most awesome person I know. I have so much respect for her mom who overcame alcoholism on the path to parental success. They didn't always get along perfectly but are best friends now. And oh yeah, her mom whose grandma name is "Magda D" is a huge Pearl Jam fan!
