PJ at ACL Fest?

vedpunkvedpunk Posts: 821
edited April 2014 in The Porch
Is it possible that PJ is playing ACL and waiting for the ACL Lineup announcement on April 22nd to announce the rest of their US tour?

Just a hunch but there has been a lot of chatter on the ACL/Lolla boards that PJ is a solid possibility.

I always thought that this was a possibility and the lack of PJ at Lolla only makes it more likely IMO. Didn't know the announcement was April 22 though, thanks for the info.

I think the rumors are Bruce and Kanye. I doubt they'd get/would spend the money on PJ if those are the two big headliners.

Kanye just played ACL in 2011.....why would they tap him again 3 years later?

Eminem played Lolla 3 yrs ago and is headlining this year. Same promoters, not out of the question at all.

I'm thinking Springsteen could be a possible headliner as well. ACL 09 was a blast when PJ played.

There is someone on aclrumors.com that just posted this:

"Well, I saw a "mini" leak poster and it says: Eminem, Pearl Jam, Skrillex, Outkast, Beck, Calvin Harris, Lorde, Lana del Rey, Foster The People, The Replacements and many many more..."

    There you go...

EDIT: Well when i posted the link, it was announcing Eminem, Pearl Jam and Outkast as headliners along with several other listed bands. Clearly someone jumped the gun.

Houston Chronicle confirmed PJ at ACL but they just removed the acts from the article.

Kanye is playing the x games here this summer. I'd be surprised if he was back a few months later. I've heard outlast, replacements and eminem as confirmed. PJ would make my day tomorrow, obviously.

Houston Chronicle is reporting that PJ is going to be one of the headliners for ACL this year. This makes me extremely happy!

Was looking around and it looks like the Houston Chronicle had this on their site earlier but took it down:

Eminem, Pearl Jam and a reunited Outkast top the Austin City Limits Music Festival Lineup.

The diverse array of acts also includes Juanes, Skrillex, Beck, Calvin Harris, Lana Del Rey, Lorde, Foster the People, the Replacements and Zedd.

Music will be spread across two weekends and on eight stages, Oct. 3-5 and Oct. 10-12 at Zilker Park in Austin. Three-day passes are $225 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Single-day passes go on sale at a later date. VIP and platinum passes are available for both weekends.

Also on the schedule: Major Lazer, the Avett Brothers, Spoon, the Head and the Heart, Belle & Sebastian, Interpol, Chromeo, Broken Bells, Childish Gambino, CHVRCHES, Jimmy Cliff, St. Vincent, Phantogram, Iggy Azalea, Jenny Lewis, Icona Pop Sam Smith and Zoé. Texas-based Western-swing outfit Asleep at the Wheel returns for the 13th year. (Catch them this weekend at the Houston International Festival.)

Set times and stages will be released closer to ACL dates.

    Now my hopes are up.

No. And don't overpay. If it sells out prices always tumble closer to showtime. I've never paid over face.
