Didn't Infallible win the "favorite song on LB" thread contest poll thingy?

I love this song! OP, what are your reasons for thinking it's terrible? It's surprising to me.

Well now you are doing justice to the name of the thread.
You were finally talking about Infallible.

I know one other person who doesn't like it. A friend of mine thinks it's to long or at least it could have been shorter because he doesn't like that they keep returing to the same thing.

Me I love the song. I do see what he means, but it doesn't bother me.

I think the lyrics are great. I believe that this is why the song is longer. I feel Eddie neede more room to tell the story.
I love the groove and the slighly spooky feel the song has. For me it's the perfect build up to Pendulum.
It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me.

I posted a discussion earlier with the question Sirens or Infallible for the last song of the second encore.

    What would be your choice?

Well neither really, but since you give me those two options, I'll give it a go.

With Sirens you give the people a formiliar song that they can easlily sing along with.
But it is a slow one.
Infallible has a little more pace, but it's still not going out with a bang.

I like the encore to start slow especially what they did last tour with the sitdown section. I feel Sirens would fit there better than Infallible, so between these two I'd pick Infallible to close the encore.

Most people I know who hate Lightning Bolt the album -- and there are a few -- will make an exception for Infallible. I think it's one of the most "out of the box" things they've done in years. Out of the box doesn't always work, but it does on Infallible. Really, really well in my opinion.

Man I was exited when I saw a new post in this section.
I like the section, and wonder why it is visted so little.

I must say I was a bit disappointed to find it was the same post yet again.

Why do you bother so much with this song if you don't like it?
Why not post about a song you do like?

Oh no, it's not that you can't say a song isn't to your liking.
Don't get me wrong, their are some that I don't quite like.
And I don't have a problem with you disliking that song.
This thread is a good place to posted it, but you didn't post anything new.
I think the disscussion dried out. But hey you were asking for more imput so I guess that's justafiable.
I was just excited to see a new post on here and felt disappointed when it wasn't really anything new.

Tell you what I'll take Infallible and you can have Sirens :p Infallible is great, you find yourself moving to the music before you even realize it and the lyrics are very relevant at least to me. Also it kicks ass live, listen to the Vancouver boot :)
Anything you lose from being honest
You never really had to begin with.

Sometimes it's not the song that makes you emotional it's the people and things that come to your mind when you hear it.

If only it would work that way.
That would make it so much easier to get my dreamsetlist.

Sirens would be among the ones I'd give away.

I really like infallible. With all the punky up-tempo and almost saccharine songs, Infallible has a nice minor-key, subversive feel that builds to a very singable crescendo. The beat is very head-noddable, for me. I also think the lyrics are less awkward than some of the other ones. The beginning of Sirens immediately turned me off for a while and I still cringe a little at Swallowed Whole for that reason (though I really like the former and kinda like the latter).

I actually sent it to a non-PJ fan because I thought they would really dig the lyrics. Not as strong to me as Mind Your Manners, Getaway, or Lightning Bolt, but I can get down with the message.

Definitely didn't immediately strike me the least likeable song on the album. But I won't try to convince you otherwise :)
I gotta say it now, better loud than too late. 2014-10-19 St Paul, MN

I mentioned this in one of the setlist threads.
Im very mixed on this song. I love the main riff, the intro/verse. That music is great and that crunching sound is beautiful to my ears. But then the chorus. This is where it just deflates me. The verse is so powerful and the chorus just sounds a bit generic after what I've just heard. The 'solo' is also just too simple.

Im not trashing the song, I do like it, but feel like when the chorus somes in, they played it safe and it couldve been more.
