LB problem

I finally received my copy of LB and a replacement vinyl along with it. Original has bad scratches on side 2, particularly on Pendulum. The replacement is perfect except for 1 problem. When the tonearm drops the needle doesn't catch the grooves and it drops off the record. It's as if the grooves are too far in. Anybody else have this problem? When I manually set it down the album seems to play fine.
