... will never happen. BUT I just imagined PJ doing "Cassidy" and I swear to god it sounded so amazing... in my head. Just had to share.

Great call on throwing stones!!! I could actually see them covering that song. It fits them so well, musically and vocally.
    I would love ripple

As a veteran of over 80 Dead shows, Throwing Stones would be great. There are so many choices....
    Looks like Rain
    Black Muddy River
    Brokedown Palace
    Sugar Magnolia
    Scarlet Begonias

Shit the list is never ending....

Ripple has topped my list for a long time. I think I've even posted on this forum about that before. Would be phenomenal.

Love seeing all the heads here.

Black Muddy River would be insane for me. That is the saddest song I know.

Althea. Another Saturday Night would be a lot better than Rockin in the Free World

my head just exploded at the thought of this happening to several of the songs already mentioned

    fire on the mountain
    loser
    sugaree
    ripple (omfg!)
maybe a little morning dew. can hear him nail "thought i heard a baby cry... this morning"
    cassidy would be great
    brown eyed woman
help/slip/franklins are seriously some of my favorite songs by them

    :)

The Dead kinda covered pearl jam I few nights back. I know it's a stretch but Phil and friends covered Rockin in the free world. I know its not really a PJ song but it kinda is and its not the grateful dead but its as close as we can get now.

This will be a HIGHLY DIVISIVE thread.
I love the Dead, saw over 150 shows in 14 years (advantage of a band that toured all year round) so there are many songs I think PJ could cover quite well but trust me there are a lot of GD/jam band haters that post here so it could get ugly.
It is awesome how many heads are on this thread. Maybe because PJ plays Oakland next!

I think Morning Dew would be Epic. My favorite band playing my favorite GD song.

Yes! I've posted this too - especially as a song Eddie should cover in his solo gigs. However, I don't see the band ever going this direction even though some of them were fans (well, at least Jeff). Still can hope though
