Just hope it's not Comatose Part II...

    :o Comatose kicks ass...

Avocado collectively contains a lot of their best rockers overall.

Fan of Avocado but skip Comatose almost evertime..Beginning sounds like Ed is trying hard to drop a deuce..and is having problems....
And it messes with the album flow as well....

Yeah....I think that album was called Binaural.

This one will be kind of a logical extension of Backspacer, but more spacey & Floyd-like....also with a little bit of new wave and punk elements added in. Overall it will be their most collaborative effort to date where everyone was in there with their hammers and chisels.

Although Comatose is generally referenced, the description for the new song reminds me also Breakerfall, assuming it is written by Eddie. If it is as genious as Breakerfall, a song inspired by a The Who song itself, then we're good.

Well, I've never really been a fan of "Spin the Black Circle" it's just ok for me. I don't really like their punk songs or their pop punk songs such as "Supersonic", "Mankind", "Ole'". To me that doesn't really show their greatness as a band. It seem formatted to me now day. That being said I can't wait to hear this. I want this report to be true. Can't wait.

I love Spin the Black Circle... Eddie's voice 1994-1998 was just unstoppable & that song just kicked all kinds of ass in concert. However, aside from that version of Spin the Black Circle from Live on Ten Legs, this fast punk stuff has kind of worn out it's welcome and has been rather irritating in recent years. It more or less just showcases how old the band is, and how much Eddie's voice has deteriorated.

Mind you, I'm not looking for the band to go all AOR/Eric Clapton and put out some cheese ball jazz record. I'm just hoping the band explores the corners a little further and that the new record contains some more challenging stuff beyond a bunch of 50 year olds farting out a bunch of half thought out mediocre garage rock.

But....who knows....maybe Mind Your Manners is gonna ROCK...and I'm just talking out my ass

Never been a fan of Breakerfall. I wish I was, but one of the few pre-2004 songs that never clicked for me.

And she's standing outside hating everyone here
She's her own disease, crying to her doll
But only love can breakerfall, breakerfall

Dont these lyrics remind you someone you have known? Dont wanna sound cheezy but I think anyone in any part of the world can relate to these.

i've never been a fan of the punky sounding PJ songs. Always felt awkward to me. I like their harder songs (Last Exit, Go, Habit, etc) Just not the power chord 2 minute garage ones.

They very well could have jumped the gun about the song and 10c asked them to take it down.

It's either that or they never heard the song to begin with. But that is probably the most likely. I would think they don't want to step on Stone's album and thats why they dont want the new album hyped until july.

Someof their punk influenced songs are great, and some aren't, IMO. Super sonic is bad, ole is terrible, I don't like STBC, Force of Nature blows. But I love Habit, Lukin, Comatose, and several others. So this new song could be great or not o great for me. What I don't get is how that disc jockey felt he could say they are picking up where Backspacer left off just from hearing one song. I mean, STBC was on Vitalogy, which is a great album for me, but if I guessed what it might be like from just STBC I'd have to guess that I wouldn't like the album. One song is basically meaningless in the context of knowing what an album might sound.

I'd bepretty stunned if they titled it Echos. It sounds like an Enya album or something. I think they're more savvy (and cool) than that.... I hope.

That would be awesome, but i don't consider Animal punk-like. That is rock to me. Iguess punk influenced is the wrong term, because so many of their songs and their shoes are influenced by some punk. I'm talking about the songs the really sound like punk as opposed to rock.

You aren't alone. I prefer the rocker songs like Hail, Hail and Animal versus the punkier stuff. The punk stuff feels like filler to me. Give me a fun riff like Hail, Hail over Supersonic's simplicity any day.
